I almost mentioned it in the in game thread but didn’t want the ridicule, although you think I would be used to that

Having watched it again Allison should save first one for me.

Not so much last week in Paris, but watching the boys tonight, it struck home to me, that AS has wrung as much as he can, from this squad Jurgen left for him… It is testament to him that he has tweaked them to the heights we have already reached… and well done to him for doing as well as he has.

All this contract talk etc… Not too fussed how it pans out, but I am looking forward to how AS shapes his own stamp on the game, and LFC as his prototype.

I felt we looked good enough to win tonight, but somehow, still feel the side lacks a team personality (if there is such a thing), and as it is to be expected, we looked a tad jaded while looking competent and efficient with our game plan…

Next season with our CL place already assured… lets see how we progress

At least now we can all get behind Arsenal in the CL, right?

‘After the break we’ll hear the thoughts of Wayne Rooney’

Fuck off.

New format will need tweaking because teams have now realised no benefit really finishing in top 8.

You can hear Wayne Rooney, but fuck, it is hard to understand what he is saying

Problem is unlike those middle two and more like 2020 we really did not disgrace ourselves.

We should have scored tonight we didn’t but it’s not because we didn’t try. Same for the Ath Madrid match. In fact it feels a lot like that.

Can’t complain too much, lucked out in the 1st leg and couldn’t take advantage at home… I agree that this should have been a transitional season after all, even the league alone will be an amazing bonus, hopefully not too knackered to add a cup too at the weekend. The injuries are an additional kick in the nuts though, fuck.

I watched the game and am curious as to why the ref was a cunt?
They won because they were the better team over two legs, no question. I genuinely can’t think of a single decision given by the ref that gave me cause for thought.

Though I haven’t seen a proper replay for their goal, I thought the lad who played the ball I to the box was offside.

And our disallowed goal it seemed to pass the initial phase of play.

PSG owner on giving an interview to Schmeichel with Henry and Co in studio. Sportswahing in progress imo.

Wayne Rooney reminds me of Tom Segura doing Steven Seagal.

I liked how we stepped up in the 2nd half and dealt with Dembele dropping into the hole, Slot won the tactical battle but when Dom and Macca go off we need players with energy, guile and tenacity to replace what the offer

It’s a pity that we were really awesome in the first round games, only to face one of the best teams and lose the tie on penalties. I didn’t expect us to win the CL this season, but the way we are out is a bit ironic, and the cherry on top would be if it affects our Cup final too.

I am trying to keep the positives:

  1. we showed we are a team that can compete in Europe with Slot.
  2. The team will hopefully be even better next season.
  3. The way we played today was very encouraging. Last week it felt like they are simply better than us (as much as the mind kept reminding us that we were focusing on the result, and not on outplaying them), and today it was clear we can dominate them too.
