FT: Liverpool 0-1 PSG (agg 1-1, 1-4 on pens)
Liverpool
Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson, speaking to Amazon Prime: "That’s the competition. You know, we got the win last week without playing our best.
"Can’t question the effort or endeavour and everything we put into the game.
"When it goes to penalties, its’s always a lottery.
"I can’t be any prouder of the players. It’s unfortunate that the effort wasn’t rewarded.
"Last week a lot was said about them not taking their chances and we didn’t take our chances [tonight].
"We couldn’t get back on level terms. We have got to look back on and there will be a lot of positives from this game, but a massive disappointment to not go through.
"Finishing top of the group and got the toughest tie of the whole Champions League.
"If they play to that level they should go far in the competition.
"It wasn’t meant to be and we need to dust ourselves down.
“We always bounce back, there’s a lot of tired legs in there. Cup finals, we enjoy them, and that’s the biggest game.”

Fuck!! i just agreed with that fellow who ate wayne rooney!!
No chance. That is not a foul. It is not enough contact to make Salah go to ground.
I didn’t write that because I thought you weren’t aware, I wrote that to argue that we lost on penalties because no team could win it in the game (so I disagree that it’s irrelevant, the shootout doesn’t indicate which side was better overall, it indicates who had a better penalty shootout), which is one of the things that shows they were not clearly the better team. And that’s not the only thing that shows that, always in my humble opinion, and no problem with whoever disagrees.

I’m curious as to how many of those who felt that “slap” on Salah was a foul but the challenge by Konate last week was not a foul.
Neither is a foul to me.
Luis Enrique when he found out Kovacs was the ref was dead chuffed as he thought the ref in the Paris game was favouring Liverpool and when this guy reffed us before we lost both games if I remember rightly and was not very good.

Yeah was stating the obvious and obviously not blaming him. Just the timing of Trent’s injury was so unfortunate as he was starting to grab the game by the scruff, almost Stevie G-esque

They probably deserved it over two legs. We have had a fair share of luck in shoot outs recently but still hurts. Now we got tp win on Sunday and win the PL.

Ah OK. Apologies. It did go to the wire but watching both games they were superb on the ball and put us under tremendous pressure when we were in possession.
Our goalie was our best player over 2 legs, and those things I believe made them the better team and deserved to go through.

They absolutely deserved to go though. But I think we would have deserved it also. We just got an ridiculous draw after finishing top

Just looked at his record and he has only reffed us once before tonight: the 2-5 loss to Real Madrid.

I have seen the hand in the face given as a foul many times in Europe.
So you think a Rugby type palm off is ok in football.

not fighting the ref today, decisions could have gone either way especially the penalty calls.
I don’t watch rugby, it’s shite. I watch, coach and ref football. That was not a foul.
I’d say that the challenge on Szobo is a foul. He kicks Szobo on the calf from behind and doesn’t make any contact with the ball whatsoever. The ref stood next to where it happens, I’m surprised he didn’t whistle

Fair enough. I posted my arguments in a different post above, so no reason to repeat them. We see it differently. But I understand why you see it so.

Did you think there was sufficient contact to make him fall?
its ok to say you dont watch rugby, why add its shite, @Roydom… hahah
I’d say it is a foul regardless of the fact that the player falls to the ground or not.
