Post match: Liverpool v PSG (UCL 14/4/26 8pm)

Honestly, I think that’s you trying to read something into a comment that simply wasn’t there because you’ve taken a dislike to me. No reasonable reading of that post would say I’m blaming the ref for the result or trying to deflect blame away from Slot.

And no, I haven’t done stuff like this in the past. I just say what I think. I couldn’t care less about defending Slot. I’m not his fucking dad. I’ve said loads of times now that I think his time is up.

Lost it in 1st leg with that diabolical performance.
1st half tonight was also poor. The Isak experiment back fired massively.

Win the remaining games, qualify for CL and then thank you and goodbye Arnie.

The rationale is it is easier to control how much he plays and if it goes wrong you have more room to maneuver with subs. But that normally comes later in the rehab process when they’ve rebuilt sharpness and need to build their capacity. Slot has repeatedly done it when he’s fresh back and not remotely sharp, which is why you have concerns over reinjury in the first place that you have to manage with this sort of approach.

I am a big fan of Isak but he’s been badly mismanaged this season at his detriment and to ours

I’m not questioning the quality of Isak, Ekitike, or Wirtz.

But I am questioning the HELL out of the idea of getting all three of them.

They simply don’t fit together.

I’d really like to know what Slot told Flo to get him to come here. It’s been constant tinkering around with him.

I didn’t expect anything and wasn’t really disappointed either. For being us, we played quite decently and would have taken far more points this season if this was our floor in terms of quality. But it’s not, this was our ceiling instead, so we are we we are, deep in the mire.

Never taken a dislike to you mascot, been posting alongside you for many years , yes ive had many disagreements with you over the years , but also had many agreements with you and you do provide some laughs , so you dont have to think i have taken a dislike to you, im not that petty…

Again it was just something on how i read it, apologies .

An excellent performance. By PSG.

As good as were in the second half, we didn’t really trouble the goalie much. Most of our efforts were shots from just outside the box. So they kept us at a distance and hit us on the break. Pretty poor defending for their first goal.

I hope Alisson stays and stops being so injury prone as Mama isn’t really up to the job.

I will go for a walk and forget about anything LFC because Slot’s team keep on serving shite. This morning, it’s thunderstorm, now it’s sunny sky…(But I will probably keep humming YNWA “At the end of the storm, there’s a golden sky…”)

That is to do with supposedly managing injuries and giving him game time, but not with what is right for the team and we needed to play full bore for 90 minutes and subs IMO would be important for keeping the tempo up.

Also, surely it is better for a player who is lacking match fitness to come on later in a game when the opposition aren’t fresh?

Just my take.

Flo seems he can link well with anyone and he and Mo have a good understanding as Mo also had with Bobby, just a pity that Mo is at the end of his Liverpool career and isn’t the player he was, otherwise their interplay would be something to salivate over.

Also, there is a good understanding between Hugo and Flo, with regards to Isak he hasn’t been fit enough to feature or develop anything with anyone.

Just need an intelligent pacy forward that works well with Flo.

I just want Slot to go end of the season, regardless if we get Top 4 or not. I have seen enough.

Does that include set plays?

I think we all do

13 of those touches in the box though were over one chance with him trying to get the ball out from under his feet and failing.

He was quite emblematic of liverpool in general tonight. He huffed and puffed, you saw hints of quality, but ultimately you can see enough flaws to explain why its all fallen apart this season.

I wonder if the touches in the box include the first touch where he loses posession of the ball?

I’ve spoken up for Frimpong but he was awful that first half.

Anyhow lost it in the first leg. It only massively pissed me off due to the injuries.

Ref was also a bellend did he even see the replay of the penalty as the screen didnt suggest it

Don’t think it’s his touch, that’s the same as it has mostly always been. He just doesn’t have the same pace so it’s looking more and more like a trampoline. Happens when players lose that yard and he hasn’t adapted his touch to compensate and after years and years of muscle memory, it’s doubtful he can.

I am sure Arne is a nice guy, but I can’t see him having the tactical nous in dealing with teams like PSG, Athletico Madrid, Bayern, Barcelona etc.

I also think his backroom staff are average and don’t have any ideas to help him in a middle match on how to change tactics of the game or which players need to come on/off and how to change the dynamics of the game.

I feel bad saying it, as we usually stick up for the manager.

Even if he changed the 2 wingers over for 10 /15mins in a game…the opponents would be wondering what was happening…but we don’t seem to have the ooomph factor from defence into attack…and we seem to lack any shooting power…we get in the penalty area and shoot with about as much energy as bee’s fart…when oh when will it stop…
