What had it for me with the bias reffing was the hand ball given against Sadio when he headed it and it hit his hand a foot away, then Sissoko did something similar in the 2nd half where he miss controlled it and the ball hit his hand and the ref gave fuck all… that for me had the ref as a cheat
You said that but maybe they did that because they wasted time, I noted it in a Championship match last season, so much time wasting and ref was warning them, then the team who hadn’t been scored on the 89th and the ref even with 5 subs then gave 2 minutes injury time and blew after a sub from the other side after 2.
As for more fouls, that was obvious because of all the cheap ones he gave, the reaction from the Spurs bench for the Robbo one that he pulled out from can’t have pleased the ref, the VAR official would have probably over ruled it mind, if we scored from it.
Don’t think so. If we would have scored earlier they would have made it 5 minutes injury time 100%.
This is the Dale Johnson mini thread on last night:
Except that it didn’t hit the green zone, did it?
As your colleague says, UPDATE is a funny way of saying “I was wrong initially”
But now you say it’s still not a handball because Salah moved Dier’s arm up. Oh really?
Now he gives us the high res def of the Son onside call
Two things are notable here. It looks like the ball is still touching Lo Celso’s foot so the pass has not yet been made. What does the following frame show? Nobody knows.
The other thing is that we really must stop our guys from wearing boots which are coloured green. Or is that gap between the red of Williams’ boot not actually his boot but grass, perhaps? Maybe draw the line so it touches his boot and use the correct frame?
Effort appreciated. Very “Starmerish”.
Haha yes.
Point stands mind.
The better team won, despite the best efforts of moaning mourine, ably aided and abetted by spuds man of the match, anthony taylor, with chris kavanagh running him a close second.
Taylor allowed the spuds to manhandle, push, trip and kick our lads with impunity. Conversely the spuds only had to fall down to earn a free kick. Handball? Only if you were in a red shirt.
And with kavanagh on VAR it was evident that the spuds would get every marginal decision. I have no doubt that had the roles been reversed, son’s goal would have been disallowed for offside, which it clearly was.
Well done to our lads, and a special shout out for the youngsters. They all shone.
A well deserved three points, in an especially sweet victory over pantomime villain mourine’s anti football, park the bus tactics.
And what is the scary thing here? That we are missing key players and playing nowhere near our best and yet we are top of the league. I can imagine when we get into top gear and start having players back, we are going to pull away from the rest.
Lads who cares? We won! Let’s leave those whiney bastards in our dust and onto the next one
Got off the plane at 4pm. Sorted out the free amazon trial. Watched a team wanting to create and win against a team practicing anti-football trying to steal a win. A lovely early Christmas present.
Thought we played very well, kept our concentration and never let our heads drop.
Champions impose themselves on a game. Pretenders are reactionary and try to bluff it.
And to think we keep playing teenagers.
The future is bright, the future is red!
Someone made a very good point on Laporte, Man City seemingly couldn’t string 3 wins together. We’ve lost our 3 main defenders and we are still getting results.
I am abit lost, who was playing non-league football last year?
Rhys Williams.
Really love how these youngsters from the Academy have stepped forward. Rhys Williams in particular. Hope he has a great career with us. Curtis obviously will.
What do you guys think of Anthony Taylor? Do we have a bad history with him?
There were many moments when he wasn’t 50-50, this without taking into account the offside call at Son.
I’m thinking the duels between Mane and Aurier and a few other calls. Is it just me? I normally don’t have a ref problem
That was called by VAR…referees don’t decide who is offside. It can only be the assistant or VAR.
I liked Lijnders reaction to Mourinho - just immediately burst out laughing. It’s a clash of styles in fairness; Mourinho would never send his side out to dominate a game through possession whereas Lijnders is a purist who would only ever send his side out to dominate.
Yes I understand that, that’s why I mentioned it to not be taken into account. Sorry for the confusion.
For the record, I agree also with the decision that the handball was no penalty, but I just had the impression that the opposite players were allowed to do things our players wouldn’t be allowed to. Particularly on Mane.
