Post match: Liverpool v Spurs (EPL 16/12/20 8pm)

  Haven’t had my morning coffee yet. I’m building up to it.

Takes a lot of concentration getting that name right you know. Do I push caps lock or hold shift for each letter.

Fixed it now though.

As we say in Portugal, they brought the bus and they left the bus in front of the goal.

“I would have been frustrated if I had been a supporter who paid £50 to watch this game because Spurs came to defend. I’m really frustrated because there was only one team looking to win, they only came not to concede — it’s not fair for the football we played.”

Yes that was the unspecial one in 2004…

That sums it up in a nutshell. Anything else than three points would have been utterly unfair on the lads. Bobbie’s celebration at the end was fantastic, no-one could catch him before he stopped running!

As for that sour twat saying at the end that the ‘best team lost’… Look at the stats, Mou, this isn’t LFC-Chelsea, and we aren’t in 2005 anymore.

Possession: Home 76% Away 24%
Shots: Home 17 Away 8
Shots on Target: Home 11 Away 2
Corners: Home 7 Away 4

How anyone can argue that the better team lost is beyond me. Even when it comes from Mourinho. His players will surely lose some of their respect for him, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them start ailing from now on.

As for us, this is such a massive statement of intent! With all the problems we’ve had, injuries forcing us to play youngsters, VAR fucking us over almost every game (Son’s goal, wasn’t it a clear offside?), and yet here we are, comprehensively beating the in-form, full-strength team in the league right now, and three points in the clear. No words for this anymore!

I gave MoM to our two youngsters Williams and Jones. Both did outstandingly well in difficult circumstances.

And Bobbie gets my vote too for his extraordinary header. It was a product of never-say-die mentality, of sheer willingness to win the game, even so late in the game. He personified this squad’s incredible mentality at this moment (lovely corner from Robbo too!), and his celebration was really something to behold. I haven’t seen him so joyous after a goal since a long time!

Firmino sprinting to the Kop in a state of delirium is the highlight of the season. I can only imagine what would have happened in a full house. What a game, what a performance, what a team this is. Hopefully they have something in the tank for the early kickoff on Saturday.

Mourinho has been reduced to a parody that is good for a few laughs here and there but nothing more. I can’t wait to see how his team responds once they get the same treatment and start facing one parked bus after another.

NBC commentators couldn’t help themselves but repeating how dangerous Tottenham looked throughout the game. In fact, White couldn’t resist uttering “Mourinho masterclass” at the start of the second half. Spoke a bit too soon, the prick. After the winner you could sense the pain and the bitterness in his voice.

Taylor was a disgrace but the fact that we beat him as well makes this win that much sweeter. Nevertheless, the next time he plays us, Klopp should take his whistle and stick it where the sun don’t shine.

Sometimes it’s so awkward when you realize there’s hardly any Spurs fan around you.

I didn’t see the build up to their goal, because Amazon were fucking about looking at something else, but my initial reaction when I saw ‘ the lines’ was definitely offside, and I still believe it was offside. The time VAR took to look at it, compared to other offside incidents over the season was ‘suspect’ to say the least. Think back to the Everton game when Mane was eventually ruled offside for Hendo’s goal. They looked, they looked again and then they looked again, until they moved the lines to a position when they could give offside. That took about 3 minutes. Last night they looked at it for about 15 seconds.

Nah Son was onside, exactly in the same way Mane was onside for our deserved last minute winner against Everton

Bobby’s celebration was a great moment. I couldn’t believe it when they said there was a VAR check. Can you imagine what it would have been like had that goal been disallowed after he’d run the full length of the pitch to celebrate? That would have been me finished with football.

As for Mourinho he just makes me laugh with his comments these days. I was pissing myself watching him last night. Can’t take him seriously. Mind games with Klopp just don’t have any impact. All those sour comments Pep made about us and look what happened. JK has completely broken him. Same with Mourinho. Klopp just laughing it all off making them look like bitter twats.

It is odd that the level of scrutiny given to incidents which could go in our favour unless VAR finds some miniscule infraction does seem to go way beyond similar incidents for our opponents.

Also, am I right in thinking that the blatant Ndombele handball in the lead up to one of Spurs’ chances in the second half would not have been looked at by VAR as it occurred too early in that move?

The Dier handball. I still think that’s a penalty.

If that is the only way Spurs and Moaninho can win a game its a completely shite indictment of the game. I hate the arrogant skewed lip cunt.

Even with the lines they showed , he was offside. I said to the missus during the review , if that’s us it’s off , but because it’s not they are going to give it. And lo and behold , they did.

I’ve never been one for calling the officials biased , but it just keeps on happening. We’re being screwed over atm , for whatever reason , and unless we start getting a few going our way sometime soon , then you really have to wonder what is going on here.

Thank fuck I didn’t even know there was a VAR check on it ! I was too busy celebrating , and by the time I got back to the game , play had resumed.

What got me as I watched the post match handshakes again is that he simply couldn’t help himself. Mourinho had to say something. He couldn’t just keep his mouth shut.

He is quite obnoxious to be honest. A blunt instrument in some ways. Quite easy to wind up I would have thought.

I guess he sees creating an enemy in Klopp is an easy way for him to justify things and motivate Spurs. I doubt it will do him any good.

I saw that and given other hand ball decisions given this year you’d have to say it was. Commentary I was listening to at the time quoted the T Shirt line. The inconsistency in something that’s prime directive is to bring consistency is quite baffling.

the whole thing needs a rethink IMO

Remember how long they spent on Fabinho’s tackle on Sunday.
