If you’re not scoring goals don’t give daft ones away, like we did today. Another brain fart from our defence. Other than that we were in control and looked the more likely to score. All of a sudden it’s panic stations. We must and should do better. But a draw is better than a loss, so something to hang onto.

How dare anyone say they thought we were slow, poor, lifeless or lacking urgency, that kinda talk is strictly forbidden around here. You should all know better.
I’m not explaining myself well. He let the Sunderland get beyond him. You don’t let an opposition player goal side of you if you are the last man. I wouldn’t accept that from my u11s.

We are (I changed my mind mid-post and added Very):
- Very boring.
- Very predictable.
- Very slow to move the ball.
- Very static.
There has been no sign of improvement.
We will basically have the same team next year, why would anyone think its going to be different next week or next season?

I don’t dispute things aren’t great and that he’s on borrowed time but if we’re calling the first five games flukes then so were the late winners for Chelsea, Palace, United.
At least in those first five games we were playing with some confidence and pushing for winners. Now we’re clinging on any time we’re still in the game into the second half.

I became quite frustrated by the amount of times we tried to be cute today (and usually turned the ball over) and Grav managing to do on a number of times a Boys Own dance routine for about10s over a stationary ball before passing sidewards…

Chiesa saved our arses from an embarrassing result becoming even more embarrassing, that’s all there is to it, give the man some fucking credit, he’s treated like a stain at this club.

Wirtz, Salah, Jones and Ekitikè look like they might be able to play together but they keep getting dropped.

Arne, really needs to come up with a solution we aren’t good enough or have the players, unfortunately looking at you Konate, to play this slow controlled possession.
We just stall and aren’t comfortable in playing it through the middle to break down a mid or low block. To do it requires quick players both in thought and movement to quickly up the tempo.
We then go back to playing it out wide and again with the level our current widemen are playing at, it is all too predictable and we end up with aimless crosses.
We need urgency but not a gung ho style where we all vacate midfield and that urgency needs to come from how we pass the ball.
We are just taking too long from not only our CB’s but the GK as well, we need more urgency getting the ball into play and playing crisp 1st time balls.
On set pieces, the best teams scoring from them whip in inswingers in and around the edge of the 6 yard box, ours are loopy and are easier for keepers to judge or for defenders to compete, fast crosses onto players moving at speed, rather than waiting, are what makes corners a successful tactic.

I find it absolutely dreadful that teams now come to Anfield thinking it’s easy to pick up some points. For me, that’s one of the worst things – that we’ve lost our fortress and our identity. Not to mention that the way we’re playing is giving me a headache and making me sick to my eyes. And I just don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. It’s truly depressing at the moment.

That’s why in my post, I mentioned it further and I haven’t seen the replay to see if he should have been marking him better, but he never gave up!!!
