True, but it wasn’t all going to click at once.
As you’re 10 hours ahead, you will have known the result already. Thanks for not spoiling the game for us.
Closest side to last season. Mmmm
Anyway that was a very comforting result for everyone with a big week ahead.
Scored first, clean sheet, dominated for a moment in the second half. Stay in the race!
Happy with the result, which is the main thing considering our current situation. The performance was much better but also helped by Villas poor showing. We need to build on this and show that it wasn’t a one off blip.
Anyway, midfield looked good and Salah was brilliant for 75 minutes. Robbo had a solid game as well.
The keeper finally had a good game. Mind you, I don’t necessarily blame him for our defeats lately but he hasn’t filled me with confidence
And I’m surrounded by Aussies, forced to eat vegemite and go surfing everyday.
These are the sacrifices I’m willing to make.
Watch out for the sharks!
That felt like a back to basics for us. We actually felt in control and didn’t allow Villa time to settle.
I was curious that there was only the one sub. Is that Slot admitting that they need time to settle?
I’m curious to see how we set up against Madrid now.
Anyway, 3 points, a clean sheet, and a step forward. I can’t ask for much more.
The most comfortable we’ve looked in possession since the Athletico game, only this time we gave a 90 min(ish) performance. The shape still isn’t perfect and we look shaky in defensive transition, but the big thing for me was that the commitment and sharpness was back tonight.
I think we can score a few against Real if we play like that, but we’ll need to be tactically spot on to get something at City.
They have rested enough, haven’t they? ![]()
That was a bit more like Klopp football tonight and his players too. ![]()
Tough life, but somebody has to live it, eh?
That’s much better than losing IMO
Ruined alot of forum members weekend that did,
Now they’ve nothing to moan about!
Overall very happy, some improved performances from some players, aimly Mo and Macca, thought Conor was very good 2nd half as well.
Villa did play into our hands as they played out from the back and apart from a couple of early wobbles our press was mostly good.
Thought we should have subbed both Mo and Gakpo in the last 19 minutes and maybe a midfielder as we started to look tired.
But other than that after the first 15/20 mins we looked reasonably solid defensively.
Midfield trio were my motm’s as we have been poor there and all 3 put in good performances.
I do like Roger for them!
You missed the pub! ![]()
There must be something surely.
Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but that was Salah’s 250th goal for Liverpool.
Sell him should be 300!
Decent start against an in form Villa.
Hopefully getting our mojo back, will know after we demolish Citeh.
