Because that’s when we’re winning it? This is not how it works.
It’s also my birthday so
What’s your record on your birthday?
It’s actually not that bad.
Ok. I won’t do it. Happy Birthday
I’ll do Leicester…
Make it a convincing win for a change and you definitely earned the right to do Spurs.
“Not that bad” is what is supposed to impress us? We would like a win mate, it’s an easy game, no need to drop points here.
Steady on…did Leicester agree?
Three points, another step closer to the title. Great first half, just didn’t get another goal or two to show for it. Iffy second half - it feels like we are in a tricky place, mentally, as we are so far ahead that we are waiting to be crowned, but it’s not done yet.
After they equalized we showed our resilience and went at them again, with Virg powering the winner home with a commanding header.
Obviously it’s getting tense for both fans and players. At this stage a win is a win. Considering we came back to win it 3 minutes after they scored is amazing. Well after we scored.
Wanted a dominant performance and to play like champions-elect and tbf we did in the 1st half but the 2nd half was fucking dreadful. I can only assume the team are under orders from AS to try and see out games once we are a goal up but that will wear pretty thin next season unless we find ourselves 10-12 points clear again, which is highly unlikely.
The fact Alisson ended up MOTM tells it’s own story. 2 world-class pieces of goalkeeping in the 2nd half won us the points. West Ham played through our midfield far too easily, their runners weren’t tracked and I genuinely feared we’d lose once they equalised.
Slobbo was beyond bad when he came on, don’t think he touched the ball for a good 20 minutes, we should be looking to get rid in the summer.
It’s fucking strange, Anfield should be in party mode as we march towards number 20 but the performances have been shit since the Newcastle game and the crowd is largely subdued. Maybe it’s the fact we are so far ahead and complacency has crept in on and off the pitch?
Can I ask did you think Jones did anything because he was about as effective as Dom.
Also we stepped up when conceded so I’m not sure where you got that concern from.
I don’t think its complacency I think its nerves and a natural loss of form just hitting at the wrong time.
We might loosen up a bit now that we got that win out of the way and the lead is back up to 13.
Wouldn’t actually surprise me if we play our better football once it’s won.
The result is all that matters, but we are allowed to look at the performance, especially the 2nd half, and be disappointed with what was on show.
Just watched the game.
Great controlled performance 1st half, just need better quality to put teams to bed. Mo and Diaz were really involved and got lots of the ball and both looked threatening. However, we just seem to be missing something.
2nd half, we were completely at sea, defensively and offensively, never controlled the game and Mo or Diaz were starved of the ball.
The lack of nous from our players, and maybe Slot was a concern, because to me it seemed simple, stop Paqueta and you stop West Ham, he was allowed to run the show 2nd half.
None of the subs impacted us positively and seemed more to stop them, which didn’t happen, rather than help us gain control.
I can’t recollect Szob touching the ball surely Harvey needs a chance, as against Fulham he got on the ball and was the catalyst in us almost getting something from the game. Also, Chiesa is unknown to the opposition and would have caused doubt, cos no one knows what he offers, but cameos seem to show he has the knack to find space.
Ali was imperious behind a defence that looks hesitant and at times out of sync with each other.
The 3 points is all that really is important, but I really want us to romp to the title with comprehensive performances that show the gap to 2nd place in all aspects to be massive.
Coming for the last game. Booked a 3 star hotel room back in early February for £400. That was the best price I could find. A lot of the hotels were sold out already.
Looking at our nervous defensive performances these past two matches, perhaps it would be better to start off with Endo, Grav and MacAllister in midfield. And sub in Jones/Elliott/Szoboszlai as and when we are on top. I think this run in has got into our players’ minds and affecting their play when the situation is tight. Endo brings the destroyer, no nonsense game that we need.
