On the train next to some Westham lads. They went to the game absolutely sozzled because they were fully expecting to lose. A couple of them don’t even remember half the match.

Good result and a welcome 3 points.

However, to say this was a good performance would be “slightly” overstating what unfolded.

There was a bit too much of why this is a poor campaign than reasons to believe we are looking to a brighter horizon.

Dad said it was a relaxing match to watch, while I said that I was on pins and needles when West Ham pulled one back and we were all over the place. Strange that we were literally next to each other and seemed like we were watching 2 different matches!

Cody scored and got an assist!

Common almost throughout the team except for Kerkez and sometimes Macca.

We simply don’t put ANY challenges in. We try to finesse the ball off opponents and this whole season we have been terrible at it.

The team seems to have forgotten the boost they’d get from the crowd if they thundered into some tackles and set the tone.

To be fair I’m not relaxed at any score anymore.

If we are 3-0 with 10 on the clock I’m usually ok but if we concede I’ll start fretting. I came calm when I saw we had scored a 5th today and at half time but not at any other point.

Indeed. Today, some of our mistakes were not severely punished by West Ham. Whew.

I was adopting a wait-and-see approach at 3-0 halftime. We definitely switched off after an initial flurry beginning of the second half. The sense that I got is that not physically imposing ourselves on them (zero tackles except Kerkez who kept Bowen mostly quiet) gave them the belief to continue to push on.

I didn’t watch as I said but I meant generally. Though keeping Bowen quiet is a massive part.

I feel like all I see is Mo waddling round like a penguin. He packing on a few stone in anticipation of the summer? Looks clumsy and slow, needs to go. Contributor of naught again today

Huh? I thought Salah’s corners were pretty good today.

Forgot to mention…it really is beautiful to have You’ll Never Walk Alone in sign-language before the match.

Edit: Also, this is the 2nd time the referees disrepected YNWA anthem and started the match before the completion of the song.

Both noted…I think the refs do it on purpose…some kind of ’ I’m in charge’ syndrome…
