Good news to wake up to. Surprised to see people critical after we score five, but I’ll watch the match later after family duties.
If we can overtake Villa we’ll be ok for CL.
Kerkez and Ekitikè were great.
If Frimpong could have had longer he might have been in with a shout for MOTM as well.
Rio looks strong why wasn’t he subbed on for Gakpo. We would have won 10-2.
Good to score like that however we don’t half fall to pieces at moments. Serial fuck ups at times bloody sloppy.
Could have had a clean sheet with more concentration.
Never in doubt and from what I saw we dominated. Ok my commentators keep going on about West Ham doing stuff, I just thought that was us fucking about.
I think the kick off is governed by the TV. If the in ground experience was paramount, the ref would let YNWA finish and blow his whistle to start the match. Instead, I think they are working to TV schedules and commercials.
Seems a miss, as a rousing YNWA is a great spectacle.
Good win. Nothing that concerns me from that. I thought we controlled the match throughout.
What I do want to see though is the players showing more pride in the result. What I mean by that is today I saw the players switch off a little when we had a good lead coming into the second half, and it resulted in some sloppy football. I’m aware that today we went and returned the favour when they reduced the margin, but it’s the bits in between where I want to see that hunger of “ok let’s keep it a clean sheet”, or “ok they scored 1, let’s keep it to that”. I feel that mercilessness is a hunger and mentality thing which we aren’t seeing right now.
Well, it feels like a month ago we were desperate for any kind of win and now we’re quibbling about not grinding the opposition into the dust. Seems like progress. Maybe next month we’ll be complaining about not scoring seven or eight ![]()
Take the win and the 3 points, any day.Seemed we got a bit casual in the second half, but possibly because of going in 3-0.
Ekitiki MOTM for me!
Cody can score a hat trick and assist another 3 and he will still be ‘useless’. He is never going to be the greatest player but instead he has become the perennial scapegoat for any bad things that happen to us. It has almost become a sport for some in this forum to think of anything and everything bad to say about Cody.
But 5-2 is great! I was hoping we get a +4 GD from this game so we can go equal with the manures but at this point we are still behind by virtue of GD. But despite our terrible season so far, we are looking to climb up the table. Of course, the overall shape and cohesiveness of the team needs to be seriously looked at but good win.
You forgot the Galpo miss minutes before his goal as well.
This happens, everyone jumps on the bandwagon for easy likes and to pick on the easy target.
I do agree he isn’t easy on the eye and his decision making and being cinical has been well below his best.
Agreed. It would be disingenuous to suggest Gakpo is anywhere near a great level. But then, this season, not many other than Szobo and Ekitike can claim to have been above average this season? Instead only Gakpo has been picked apart. If he scored goals, he is just lucky or scored goals that were put on a plate for him or he scored goals that are inconsequential etc. Before Gakpo, I never knew in Liverpool, there are such things as “unimportant” goals.
Only 13 points off 1st

Watched it.
Weird game. We were the better team, but we switched off and let them in on too many occasions for comfort. Gravenberch and Mac Allister were very inconsistent. Brilliant one moment and woeful the next. Gakpo missed a sitter, scored a deflected goal and played a beautiful pass for Frimpong.
Mo was generally poor, but did provide good corners. Is that enough?
Patchy, but we’ve learned about set pieces somehow and there are options from the bench. Rio and Jerry looked very good in their cameos.
Optimistic, but with a lot of caution.
Except how they cut through central midfield like a hot knife through butter. I know that’s become our norm however it should remain a concern.
I liked the look of Summerville.
He was good throughout. Very very pacy, strong for a little guy, never stops running. Good qualities!
I didn’t see yesterday’s match, caught the highlights though.
Saw that Salah was taking good corners in. Is it right though that he attempted zero dribbles all game? Was he passing it more often? or maybe he didn’t fancy his chances against Summerville and Senegals Malick Diouf
One thing that bugged me was Dom’s performance. He was quite poor by his standards. Neither his pressing or his passing or his positioning was ever quite in sync (like the rest maybe..) and the yellow was for a petulant egotistical strop.
More importantly, he is Dutch!
Manures is losing 1-0. If they lose by 2 goals or more and Chelsea does not win, we will amazingly end the week in 4th place ![]()
