POST MATCH: Liverpool v West Ham (EPL 31/10/20 5.30pm)

I think you can abbreviate that to

‘Fucking shambles’

I think whats been lost in the grand scheme of things about performances is that we having been playing every midweek since first week of season.

Definitely. Klopp has been in match prep mode the whole time, no scope to realign except where injuries have forced it, and there has been too much of that.

Some of the excuses for the travesty that is VAR are unbelievable. The bias us evidenced in our last four PL matches.
Its fucking blatant now.

Great point, very hard to do anything new when the next game is 3 or 4 days away. It’s about grinding away and getting as many points as possible on the board no matter how they come.

Same here the application is so so wrong

That’s what struck me most about tonight. The pace of the game seems about 75% of what it normally would be and I think it’s having an adverse effect on us more than most. It seems impossible to build up any sort of tempo and is like watching a pre-season friendly.
That this team continues to find a way to grind out results despite all the shit that’s thrown it’s way is astonishing.
I didn’t think it was a foul for the disallowed goal. As far as I’m aware it’s not an offence to challenge for the ball and there was no intent whatsoever from Mane to foul anyone.
We bossed the whole game and were unlucky to concede, poor header from Joe and as usual any mistake ends up in the back of our net.
Hendo and Gini bossed the midfield and Phillips didn’t do much wrong. Bobby struggled to have any impact again and Jota is giving JK a real selection dilemma.
Top of the league despite all the crap, suck it up all the haters.

I still defy anyone, fucking anyone, to give me an example whereby we’ve benefitted from VAR when we shouldn’t have. Yet if the mancs and bitters say it often enough it becomes the truth.

Just a word about Gomez.
There’s been a lot about Phillips and justly so however Gomez marshalled that line. He’s taken a lot of flack recently but he commanded that defensive line got all of them even Robbo on the same wavelength and played pretty well at the same time, you wouldn’t get that from Matip (not sure about Fabinho but Fabinho shouldn’t be marshalling a backline considering how front foot he is).
Saw on a number of occassions Gomez bark and the whole line got in place with TAA and Robbo looking across respectfully. Good stuff to see.

On the 75% maybe the fact we are playing on average every 3 to 4 days means we can’t go hell for leather especially with injuries.

Good point, we saw last season over Christmas we were able to win games playing well within ourselves. Bodes well for when we get Tiago, Keita, Fabinho and Matip back.

We were better in the 1st half than the second until Jota and The Cube came on.

That’s what you get when the French and Brittish work together isn’t it?

Ha, or close, Bohm was American, but left his mark elsewhere, at Birkbeck college London.

But you can have concord and the chunnel as well…

Don’t forget the aircraft carriers ‘Charles de Gaule’. You know the one that’s the wrong size and the propeller keeps falling to bits. (not to mention it isn’t as fast as it should be because the French saw fit to fit in 2 submarine engines instead of building the one that had been designed for it).

What the flagship of the French fleet? The Queen Elizabeth looks a belter tho!

I once owned a Renault…just the once.

Yup, Klopp is effectively managing our CL games so far, he isn’t interested in 5-0 wins, get through as easily and quickly as possible.

Also looking at the rest of the league, it’s not just us.

3 points and no injuries is the result I was looking for. Nat Phillips was a real bonus. I’d hoped that he would cope but he looked a real asset. MotM along with Jota who is turning out to be a game changer.

Not our greatest night but it looks like we are moving in the right direction.

Flagship? It’s in refurnishing all the time and they can’t make propellers quick enough.
Yeah! looks as if the Royal Navy are getting what they wanted and asked for but that won’t be known until it starts sailing will it?
My daughter has a 2nd hand Renault (was a freebee so who cares) however it puts me off ever having another (unless its’ a freebee of course).
Enough! we are off subjet and there’s important matters at hand like having the same standards for our 1st team starters as we do for our backups. Like Alisson is as useless as Adrian, Wijnaldum is poop and Firmino looks like he’s retired.

On the disallowed goal - For me no foul by anyone just 3 players going for the same ball and it bounced kindly to Jota.
Nowadays every challenge has to be a foul. If a player goes down in the penalty area it’s a peno or yellow card for diving. What happened to just losing your footing. No peno, no dive. Someone just fell over.

As regards the game, it’s diré to watch and the only reason that is the case is because of the opposition. With today’s fitness standards a poor team can keep their shape for about 75 mins. What happens then? Liverpool have passed and probed and patiently kept possession, tiring the other team out. It’s happened in the last 3 games. Strange eh?
