Struggled badly in the second half and could not string two passes together. At least Arne brought on Endo this time to see the game out and he did not disappoint. Players look tired today probably due to a lack of rotation in midfield. 11 more wins and we are champions.
Winning while playing badly is a sign of champions.
3 points are the only thing that matters.
NEXT!
First half was ok, nothing spectacularâŠwe actually created very little. The first goal came via a fortunate ricochet off their defender where we ended up bundling over the line and the 2nd was a pen. Diaz was the only one out of our midfield/forwards who stepped up.
Second half was a total shambles, didnât even look to attack once - I believe we didnât even have a single shot. Grav and Mac look goosed, if this is doing to be theme for the remainder of the season then weâre in deep doo-doo.
Glad to have come away with the 3 points but these performances havenât been good enough.
True enough, but we are showing signs of nervousness/ fatigue. Today should have been pretty straightforward but errors crept into our game that allowed Wolves to feel that the game was still for grabs even at 2 nil down. We need to get back to where we were pre Xmas.
I make one bad blowjob reference and now the entire forum has to see the âextreme loadâ message, grow up.
In line with a story I read yesterday, headline read âArsenal pull back league leaders. Now within fours points.â Well, yes, technically, but the Reds hadnât played their game, which weâve won. Iâm not seeing a new headline, reading, âLiverpool extend league lead with win.â
Itâs a tough pill to swallow, but okay.
I donât know about straightforward. The Reds were coming off a really tough derby, midweek, and the Wolves had a full week to prep for this game.
Pretty straightforward, but point taken. The thing is that the game was just about done and we gave them hope. Any team struggling at the wrong end of the table are going to grab hope if it comes their way. The last ten minutes you could have been forgiven for thinking we were the away team.
One of our fellow posters were banging the same drum.
Too busy crying.
A winâs a win at this point. With the next 4 weeks of matches being pivotal, the only thing that matters is keeping that points gap with Arsenal. We both have really tough fixtures, itâs hard to see either getting full points.
Definitely need to improve on that second half, and I trust Arne to address it ahead of Villa.
Happy for the win, just what we needed, 3 points.
I am much less happy by our forwards diving to try get a penalty. Even if Salah canât get a foul without first losing an arm and a leg.
With VAR, thereâs pretty much no chance PGMOL will give us anything, so Iâd rather we play clean and not risk a yellow card. (Jota was lucky there, not sure if refs can give a yellow after a VAR call)
All I can say is, itâs going to a loooooong, stressful 3 months if this is anything to go by. Talk about a nervous crowd! Nervous crowds bring a nervous team. Letâs see how much intestinal fortitude this team has.
Maybe it was too early to be pissed the later ones should be fine
In fairness, both the BBC and Guardian headlines reference our lead being back to seven points.
Thing is, weâve had that kind of lead for weeks now. Maintaining the status quo isnât much of a story but theyâre all desperate to keep the title race alive for the clicks.
Did enough to win, that was the important thing, now lads just keep winning, donât give a toss whether it is pretty or not!
