Might not have been our greatest day,but all we had to do was win,the title was out of our hands before yesterday.
Still there is a CLwaiting for us to win, let’s just do it.
If you finish on around 85 points, then go ahead and talk about the lapses (eg Brighton) which caused dropped points
But once you reach the high 80s and into the 90s, it’s a moot point. You can’t be 100% perfect. It then becomes more of the small differences and rub of the green.
With a high point finish, it’s rational then to look at things like officiating. Prime example is the Harrygate non-red and also in the same match Paul Tierney claiming Jota stopped to try to win a pen.
Then VAR hides behind it’s protocol and sees that the description given by the ref kinda matches with the video (yeah, right), so they cannot possibly ask the ref to view it again.
I’d wager my life savings that had it been Kane and not Jota in that non-pen incident, they would’ve not only had a pen, but a red card as well.
Well, I think we are experienced that every 2 years on AFCON already lol!
2013-14, 2018-19 and this season.
Officiating in England is no longer at its highest standards.
You don’t hear so much of this in the other leagues as compared to ours…
It also explains why FIFA will only use two English referees for the entire tournament…
I watched on multiplex and what a rollercoaster. As predicted we had a chance as AV went ahead and at 0-2 at empty place in complete silence and 1-1 at a fantastic Anfield it really seemed like it was going to be our day. How did AV lose that lead?
Looked to me like Gerrard changed tactics from 4411 to 4321 christmas tree and a few of AV players just couldn’t keep going. Once cheaty went ahead they became their normal cheaty selves, rolling on the ground for 5 minutes that the ref only added 28 seconds for.
We pushed and pushed like a Klopp team does and got the necessary win unfortuneately at the end of the day it wasn’t enough.
No complaints here, on to the next final!
And City add Haaland plus maybe another one or two high end players.
Over the last 4 years City have 1 more point than us.
That shows how good we are and despite all their cheating and brown envelopes they can only be 1 point better than us.
A valiant effort by the boys. Couldn’t be a prouder supporter. To all those forum naysayers calling to see the backs of players who have worked so damn hard this season, a big FUCK OFF for you lot.
I didn’t realise that was Coady. He can fuck off some more then.
Had it not been for that dodgy pen decision against Everton , that the ref later apologised for getting wrong, we would be champs. It is not always down to players and coaches.
Still gutted but proud to be and LFC supporter.
Sadly it all comes down to dirty money. Jurgen is clearly the better coach, Pep just buys success.
Has @PeachesEnRegalia been around?
He’s busy drafting ‘Smash the Madrid cunts, they’re shit…’
Ahh woke up gutted this morning. So close. Klopp will have a job lifting the guys this week. That sounds strange given it’s the CL Final, but this season is bound to have taken a physical and mental toll. Feels like there’s a pressure to win the CL now.
One last push!
I think the boys will be motivated more than ever now.
Had made my peace with this yesterday but read this morning that 92 points would have been enough to win any title in Premier League history bar one occasion and that was us in 2019.
Just seems so cruel on these boys to put in two phenomenonal seasons like that and come up short both times. After the battle and slog of last season it felt like we deserved it this time, sadly not to be.
Gutted.
United came 2nd with 73 last year
Don’t think 2019 happens if we win in 2014. FSG wouldn’t sack a PL winning manager. Suarez would still leave for Barca and without him Brendan wouldn’t amount to much. And by the time we wise up JK would have been gobbled up by another club
