Post match: Liverpool v Wolves (EPL 22/5/22 4pm)

Should have hammered Leicester FFS.

Anyway , no point thinking of what if.

A fast and furious start from us, but a sucker punch from Wolves early on. Sa slipped with the goal kick, injurying himself in the process, yet Konate got under the ball for Neto to get it and cross for Jiminez.

We had a lot of chances in the opening 20 minutes, but we were exposed at the back. Matip was on the wrong end of the physical challenge (he seemed to not be able to sprint in this game - maybe he is not 100%). But, as with other games recently, we kept going and Mane got the all important equaliser from a delcious flick from Thiago to set him up.

Speaking of Thiago, it doesn’t look good for him being fit for the CL final. Had to be replaced at half time for a pull in the right hamstring.

Jota was all full of effort, but was guilty of giving the ball away many times. Also snatched at some shots when a bit of compsure would’ve served him better.

Villa going 2 up gave that hope. The 3 goals in a few minutes doused it out.

An amazing season, and unless I misheard, it’s 50 from the last 54 points available. That first Tottenham game with no red for Kane and no pen for Jota is galling.

Oh, it’s 2022 not 1979. How does a fake score go through the crowd in this day and age? Youngsters - don’t get your live scores from some Twitter nobody faking the score.

If Man $hitty finshed 2-2, I feel Pep would’ve exploded.

Salah missed penalty to go 1 up. Frustrating.

And since Chelsea won the the league in 16/17, nobody else has except us. We are the only side to push them and it’s taken 90+ totals to pip us. Fuck them, cheaty fucks.

Have Wolves played that hard all season? Looked as if they rested for the past couple of months in preparation for this game. And we still beat them by 2.

I don’t give a fig what CIty did, I can’t watch that team, unless they’re playing us. 90% of the league lays down and spreads their legs for City before a game starts.

Amazing season for our lot, with one more to go. I love this team. Let’s get some revenge on those Real pricks, and add some more silverware to the trophy case. Seeing as we’ve only one league title, according to those revisionist sods at NBC, we could use some another cup. GO ON YOUR REDS!

Nice to see spirits high amongst the squad despite the heartbreaking finish.

Proud of the lads. Proud of Klopp. Proud of the fans (TAN included). YNWA.

I didn’t have much hope to begin with. But got my hopes up as Villa led 2-0. Knew it’s not done, knew it’s not enough, but I started to hope. That’s why it’s hurting now. I’m sobbing in silence. Watched the Cheaty goals and Villa defending was hilarious. Hate (from the bottom of my heart) their owners. Don’t like Pep either (can you blame someone for this who is habituated with Klopp!). But cheers to the players, they fought well, respect.

Oh well, on to Paris then; raise hell Reds, raise hell.

Of course, why wouldn’t it be? We’ve won. We’ve won 28 games only lost 2 and got the biggest game of season to come next weekend while City Utd Everton will be on the beach.

It’s just a sad ending to the league campaign for all the work they put in. I completely agree with you though, I hope there’s no feelings of regret for any of them.

Nah, it would’ve been sad had we had it in own hands and lost it.

We were dead and buried in Jan
nothing to be sad about.

So proud of the reds, remaining undefeated in 2022 and finishing the season with 92 points (good enough to win it most seasons, so basically playing like champions all season), competing for the title till the last moments of the season, when it was supposedly not worth fighting for months from now

We deserved it so much, but it wasn’t meant to be, we go again next season, as long as we keep competing every year, we’ll win some of them.

Proud of the boys and what a deserved tribute to Origi, a legend forever!

One more final to go, and what a season it would be to win this, especially vs Madrid. Let’s finish the season the Liverpool way!

For some reasons unbeknownst to us, the refereeing standards has dipped so much that for this coming FIFA World Cup, England will only have 2 on field referees and zero VAR referees.

That is shocking considered that BPL is within the top 2 leagues in the world!

If the PGMOL is working as a normal company, the CEO and senior directors would be removed by the board for an exceptional failure in achieving the KPIs. Heck, they might not even get the Performance Bonus at all!

$hitty trying to copy the Henderson shuffle.

Often imitated, never duplicated

MIcah Richards - “I know they’ve spent money, but it’s the team behind the team. They’re so good.” Speaking nonsense.

Give it a rest. I guarantee nobody gives a shit about KPI’s at the moment.

Great game to watch with al the drama. Credit to Wolves, who made it as difficult as they could. But the reds just kept going. Nothing they could do about the citeh result. Congrats to the highest value squad the game has ever seen. On the other hand I’d rather be beating Madrid, Bayern etc than Norwich and Burnley week in week out.
