Post Match: Man City v Liverpool (EPL 23/2/25 4.30pm)

Number twenty is on its way. I’m not sure which bunch of Mancs will be more upset after that performance.

Salah and Szobo easy votes for MoM. Salah gets the nod as Première Étoile because that was a throwback game. He scores all the time, he pops up with assists, but he packed a damn lunch for work today. His first half defensive work was the best I can remember in years. I don’t know if that was tactical emphasis or motivation, but you could see it setting the tone for the team performance right from the start.

The third is tricky, because it could really be two. It looked like City’s attacking plan was to rotate Foden in and out from a forward position to midfield and have Marmoush run in (or vice versa), hoping to catch the defensive midfielders in a poor switch. Never really happened, and Foden in particular had a quiet match. Gave the nod to Grav because he was having to make the first cover decision most of the time, but Mac was close behind. Great communication between them, and with the defensive line.

We controlled them with ease the whole game. Man of the match is very difficult as everyone played really well and made city look really poor. 11 points clear and 11 games to play. I think it’s coming home guys.

Went with Dom but him and Salah were the main guys such a confident display and Endo deserves a mention for his performance at the end.

It was such a confident second half and what I wanted to see from us after the last few weeks.

Hopefully that gives us the confidence into the next couple of weeks. Glad Forest ran Newcastle a bit around as we left a lot out there.

Not even close to winning the title but we’ve been able to put those last two away games to the side.

Honestly, I watched only the second half and was really bored. City didn’t really threaten, we couldn’t really string attacks together.

Next!

Also, I told you lot, once I started watching, there would be no more goals…

In total control through that back end when they tippy tapped around. It was like we yawned and said have the ball and prance around - you ain’t scoring.

Professional, mature, clinical and smart.

Not gunna call it yet but feeling good.

Dare I say the baldy in the middle had a decent game as well. After all the worst decision came from VAR.
