I agree with this wholeheartedly. There’s a distinct lack of self-accountability that’s set in amongst some of the players. Unfortunately, it’s easier to sack the head coach than it is to tear the squad up. But whomever replaces Slot will have a lot of work to do to suss out who has some self-accountability and who does not.
Unsure where to put this but I thought it was poignant, I don’t come from Liverpool, I’m from an old Steel and Pit village in Yorkshire and it is very much the same ethos.
Re the 6:44 Anfield wrap Video, there are some good points brought to the fore regarding a disconnect between these present group of players, and the match following supporters.
While the watch Dom was wearing got a few mentions, he also states someone was filming the players driving from the training ground in their flash cars and posting it online… and yes it is part of a footballers life for such things. The ironic thing for me, after watching the training ground car show video myself, was that it was Curtis Jones (one of our own), who drove away in the most expensive, and flashy car amongst the rest - a £450k customised Shadow Rolls Royce…!!!
I mean, okaaaaay… but it will be things like this that will niggle some fans, then it just becomes another cross for the player to carry when their form goes to shit..!
