Post match: Man City v Liverpool (FAC 4/4/26 12.45pm)

The match was worse than I feared. We looked OK until that penalty and then went to bits. No fight, just gave up.

I’d hoped Mo might look a bit brighter after announcing that he was leaving, but his confidence looks shot. It’s like he is having to think what to do with his feet with any sort of muscle memory gone.

I’m not singling him out because the entire team looked hangdog and off the pace.

What’s worse, is that the team seems to be coming out ill prepared each week. That’s got to be on the coaching staff, and not just Slot.

I did see some improvements back in January, but that’s gone, and they just look like they want the season to be over. I know how they feel.

This is fucking sad to see - Manager of LFC after all

Rather than “none of these useless cunts” option.

We need a regular “Abstain from vote” option :joy:

We can then say, we considered all players equaly shite

It should have happened in November. Slot out. Now we are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

They clearly did not want I play for him in the second half.

Even is Slot gets sacked, it would not have been a mistake, due to the title won.

We can’t rewrite history and assume anybody coming in would have won it.

Concerning for players like Wirtz. He came back from an epic showing on international duty, yet for us, looks like a player who is unsure what his role is.

Dom looks shot, Ekitike too

Yeah I think the international break was the time. Some say November but that wasn’t happening and the worst had yet to actually come. In fact I would have had issues sacking him before January but it’s getting worse.

Our best performers can’t be arsed now and that’s a concern.

That was my thinking, provided we had a replacement ready to go.

Didn’t see today. Part of me refuses to watch any game with City in it. Sounds like a horror show.

At least he’s not leaving scratch marks on it for everyone to see.

Watched the first half.

Couldn’t be arsed after that plus the stream was annoying.

So, how does everyone feel about going into the Everton game, with this spineless lot? I can’t wait.

Nevermind Everton, imagine what PSG are going to do with us…

I’m not convinced we win a game the remainder of this season to be honest

Hadn’t even thought about that. See if PSG do a Stoke and see if some have learnt.

PSG are at least good.

There is a reason why these teams are still just about behind us.

The thing is, if next season is going to be anything other than a random drunken crawl, we need to see the shoots of recovery this season. I’ll be keen on seeing every game and the hope will be we may fare better next season. Slot or not, we need a bit of a game plan other than possession and control.

It was always going to be difficult to today, but we made a show of ourselves again. The post hoc narrative will be that City were devastating and we were shite, but there is more to it than that.

It was the same issue we’ve had all season - we play well, but were massively wasteful in front of goal and throw away 3-4 good chances. City get the breakthrough, and we look like the world has ended. The only difference today is that City are good enough to punish us for feeling sorry for ourselves by growing in confidence and putting us to the sword.

There is a mentality issue with this team. They simply cannot fight through adversity. They look like a punch drunk boxer at times. They have no belief.

At this point the easiest thing to do is to move on Slot and get in a new voice who can draw a line under the season and rebuild the mentality. I suspect FSG are not going to do that, but whatever happens it is the number one thing that need fixing about this team.

I live in Liverpool, so I’m very concerned about the Everton game.
