Post match: Man City v Liverpool (FAC 4/4/26 12.45pm)

Problem is even if we scored we’d probably have conceded and then fell apart. There isn’t even the hope nowadays mind.

I am very pessimistic. If we make top 5 Champions league place, it will be a miracle. I can’t see much positivity for next season with Arne and his coaching staff. They have run out of ideas.

We need a major change, a logical one, not an emotional one.

Dom: “The fighting spirit wasn’t there enough, the mentality wasn’t there enough. None of us were there to be honest as much as we could”

Why not? - should have been the next question…

Might as just mail that in the next game.

Feel for Dom a bit, seems to have become the de facto captain and he’s had a good season but every player has limits and he can’t do it by himself.

This in a nutshell.

It’s the hope that kills you.

We start well, you think, actually, we could do alright here.

One little setback and we’re done, and as you said, it’s been the same all season.

It’s going to take a mammoth effort from whoever comes in ( if indeed someone actualy does ) to turn this squad into a team again

Szoboszlai: “When you do something and there is no result for it, it makes no sense. We had chances and missed them, we conceded an easy penalty. We lose 4-0. We cannot concede as much as we concede. Nothing else to say.”

Why wasn’t it there? Why wasn’t it there enough?

It’s like groundhog day with this guy. Him and Virg take it turns to bemoan our inexcusable, feeble and pathetic showings without giving any depth. Nobody asked to hear it.

One thing’s for sure, these lads are gonna be back at AXA with smiles on their faces Monday morning playing basketball.

Dominik Szoboszlai on why the mentality wasn’t there:

“That’s a good question… I don’t know! It’s hard to find words to be honest. We wanted this one so much. You lose 4-0 at City and it’s not the best.”“The fighting spirit wasn’t there enough, the mentality wasn’t there enough. None of us were there to be honest as much as we could. It’s a hard time but we have to stick together. On Wednesday there is another chance but we have to get in our head this is not the season we would like to end.”

What was the question?

Are you happy?
Do you want Slot to stay as our coach / manager beyond midnight on Saturday?
Is there life on Mars?
Is the president of the USA a jolly good fellow when you think about it?
Should I be POTY?
Is there any chance of LFC ever having any more success with Arne Slot in charge?
Can you lend me some money?

Arne Slot:

“Very disappointing, not only to be out but also the manner. Another big disappointment from us.”

Slot really should be able to play his ‘look, just fuck off will you’ card today.

Glad a Liverpool legend is saying this, it needs to said. This isn’t normal or a lull of a team that will go again.

If this is a performance on the back of “wanting it” god knows what a less than bothered would look like.

Who to? Mo Salah?

Well he could to be fair.

To be fair, I’ve seen Liverpool teams more devoid of confidence than this one, and a few of them Robbie was playing in.
