Post match: Man Utd v Liverpool (EPL 22/8/22 8pm)

Basically just increased the thickness of the respective lines to account for the lack of precision of the equipment so tight ones now get judged more often as even. It’s just a case of adding more benefit of doubt to the attacker…pretty much what all fans were asking for over the past couple of seasons.

So he was offside then? Just sounds dumb.

Not like we deserved a point to be fair.

Tolerance only comes to light against us? Surprise surprise.

If lines are level, it’s onside. The greater tolerance is not an issue in of itself.

We need to adapt to it. We’ve exploited VAR offsides superbly with our high line these past years.

We need to tweak it slightly with this greater tolerance in use.

Anyway, the main issue is we need a settled back four to get in rhythm. Even with Jordan’s bad touch, the back two should have stepped up better as Rashford had already made a could of strides so was in momentum.

In a settled back line, the defender would have stepped up a fraction of second earlier to make Rashford well offside.

I never saw a good replay of the offside at all and the only one with a line showed a single green one, offside should not be subjective it is the only thing they can get right with the technology!

Nice to see you Jaffod. I was expecting long full rant from you, but you gave it to us gently, thank you.

I think we just have to ride the storm the next few months. We are going to have another tough month to get through until all the injured players are brought back. Then we have this flipping World Cup in November which throughs all the cohesion and rhythm out the window.

I wonder if it will work for Klopp like the old German mid season break.

Just hoping it’s not like his last season at Dortmund.

Three games in and yearning for a mid season break?

Nothing against his charity work…but does this influence decisions against him…ooooh I’d better let him be onside or else I’ll get ripped to shreds by the manc fans and reporters…just a theory…

Sad to say, but Man Utd were more hungry. They were sliding into blocks.

Sancho dummied to take out the sliding Milner. When Bruno did the same to our players, we hit the ball into him, rather than shimmy and continue forward.

I’ll give him credit when he calls United’s scum fans out for singing Feed the Scousers or Sign On. Like tonight.

He doesn’t meet the exacting GQS (Git Qualifying Standards)

No. The system as previously used was able to create a good number of false positives - ones it identified as offside, but by a margin smaller than the level of precision the system can really deliver (once you factor in the identification of the point at which the ball is passed and where the lines should pass through on the respective players). It was a bad application the technology and produced bad results that fans werent happy with. They listened and have given fans what they asked for - more benefit of doubt for the attacker. The attacking player now has to be offside by a margin big enough that you can be confident the system has correctly identified as offside, something they have achieved by simply making the respective lines thicker so they are more likely to overlap when really close (and thus be onside).

Oh and also, fuck off Stormzy.

I saw one tweet by an LFC fan already saying ‘ohh it is eerily looking like his last year at Dortmund’

But Robbo knows there is a problem and know they have to get back to winning the next few games

Tbh Maria I’m trying really hard to not give a fuck. It’s hard though. Last season was the final straw though when a referee from Manchester was able to decide where the title ended up.
And who knows, maybe that’s why the players don’t look right at the moment. Maybe they’re wondering what’s the fucking point?
3 games in and we’ve conceded the softest pen I’ve ever seen, a clear foul on Henderson in the build up to Fulham’s second goal, a goal against that looks clearly offside and that rat-faced little cunt not getting sent off.
We should have gone after Kavanagh last season but as usual bent over and took it. This season will be no different.

Didn’t they make the lines thicker last year which I felt solved the issue.

I knew someone would mention it so I thought I would. Of course that was down to an injury list longer than lottery winners shopping list.

Well no, he’s obviously not going to do that is he?

This is a lad who has done fuckloads to help kids in poverty, and rival fans seem to think this is a stick to beat him with. It fucking bizarre to me.

Look at Rashford, doing loads to help feed kids that the Tories were happy to see go hungry, the fucking do-gooding cunt.
