The full backs are being asked to do a job they never were before - be the primary defenders of midfield runners. That was always the remit of Wijnaldum and Henderson, now we are asking the CMs to attack wide areas and the wing backs to track runners. No idea why that, of all things, was the tactical change we felt we needed this season.

Just watching Oliver in reaction to our goal again. Clownish. Amusingly, the entire US studio agrees he should have been sent off (second yellow) and instead of doing anything Oliver started pushing Mo, like it was the liverpool players who had to be dealt with.

I bet The owners are on the phone now to Jurgen offering millions to buy new players well 3 or 4 million.
I’m wondering if we could have used him here in Nuñéz’s absence. Firmino is great, but he just was missing in key moments, especially when we needed a centre-forward.
When is Ramsey expected to be fit?
Trent looks like he could do with a couple of games on the bench, but can’t see him being dropped til we have a specialist RB that can be brought in

i think the the whole team is tired. it takes such mental strength to be challenging every season, especially with such a limited squad. we needed a refresh badly but we have not got it

63 minutes and only one pass completed between Salah and Firmino. That stat speaks volumes. Our attacking force is simply not functioning.

Yep, and we don’t even do “good” passes, they are slow or overhit, which end up back to the fullback who then lose the ball.
We seem to have tactically set up our game for Thiago yet not signed a player to play like he does when he’s injured (which is a lot)… Add to that the Nunez tweaks we look lost… Then we go back to the 433 without Thiago and Nunez, but don’t revert our tactics… Baffling to say the least!

They just noticed in his medical his injury I think. Lad hasn’t even trained yet. Mustn’t be able to walk. Talking about noticing like it’s a small thing
This is the worst possible start to the seasons in the last 10 years tbh. We have problems in every department. We are a shadow of our former selves. I was very surprised to see how poor Virgil was in the last few games. Trent looks like he is away with the fairies. The bright spark for me was Carvalho and Diaz. Mo needed a good service which he is not getting much. God knows why Firmino is not playing his usual unique style. I thought Milly was the only one who actually cared what was happening on the pitch, the way he yelled at Virgil.
Overall, the impression I got that there was a the lack of desire from most of the team. I thought they were quite lazy the last 5 minutes. There is quite alot to sort for Klopp. He will have to be ruthless and we know he will not let complacency seep into the team.
A very disappointing night. The Mancs have beaten us twice now. We must do better in the next match.
When is Nunez back ? I think Carvalho needs to play more regularly now.

It’s clearly to give trent more time on the ball, the problem is it’s made us as team predictable and easy to attack.
Because we had no outlet from our midfielders when playing out from the back.
It never is
Why do our wide midfielders run to the full back positions when we have the ball. Seems a waste
