Post match: Man Utd v Liverpool (EPL 24/10/2021 4.30pm)

The two phrases most often repeated on RedCafe after our goals are “FFS!” and “Please be offside!”

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Fair play to them, many of them were expecting a battering.

Still buzzing. Haven’t enjoyed a single match like this since the CL final.

Also, Ole still not sacked yet. :crossed_fingers:

They’ve gone on and on about ‘we’re not gonna become a club that routinely sacks managers’.

This is some corner they have painted themselves into…

If they are going to sack him, it will be today.

If he survives the day they’ll keep him I reckon

We should have a Deadline Day Thread!

Please somebody make this happen….

Can somebody get to OT with a camera and an umbrella for hourly updates too?

This could be a brilliant day (but I l’y if he doesn’t get sacked)

Also apparently other fans moaning about Fred and McTominay because “they don’t score goals or make attacking passes”.

Literally no concept of team balance!

Probably tongue in cheek comment, as you try to prove a point.
The thing is, if he had clamped down and given a red to Ronaldo or Fernandez then the Pogba tackle on Keita doesn’t happen.
Same nonsense as Thiago vs Everton last year.
Taylor had no option but send off Pogba, and even then he got the decision wrong until VAR told him.

Taylor did Liverpool no favours in the match.

Personally thought the referee had a great game.

Some people just can’t let go of this ref corruption thing can they

Agree. Ronaldo started throwing himself to the ground early but he just ignored it

Ye thought that too.

Had ample opportunity to give United FKs when players like Ronaldo and Fernandes went to ground but didn’t give them fuck all if I am honest.

You could argue that he didn’t get the Pogba call right initially and VAR had to correct him, but I think the Curtis-Ronnie one it was 50-50.

Initially I thought Ronnie kicked him directly in the belly and shouted “he’s gone!” at the TV but wasnt so upset when I saw the replay. Yes it could have been a red on another day with another ref, but I certainly don’t think it was a nailed-on red.

There is genuinely more chance of Harry Maguire winning this year’s Ballon D’or.

My thoughts exactly

Found time to watch the highlights of the game now, as I unfortunately had to miss out on this. Fucking hell, I expected the usual painful borefest, and didn’t think I’d miss much… :flushed:

A fantastic display from our lads. Clinical, ice-cool, they really played on their potential, especially in the last thirty yards. Some of the passes and moves in and around the opposing box was a joy to watch.

MoM for me: Naby. From what I saw in the highlights, he played like a man possessed. An incredibly strong presence in the tackles, and he played that role of providing the link between midfield and attack, often offering an option as the fourth attacker. I really cross fingers that Pogba’s stupidly dangerous tackle didn’t injure him too much. Fortunately, Naby had his leg in the air when the impact happened, so hopefully it’s just a strong bruise on the shin, and he’ll soon play again. Fingers crossed.

And what to say about our attacking trident? All were wonderful by all accounts. And when on top of this, your main forward in the side is on the very top of his game, you can get that type of result.

The clean sheet is of course extra satisfactory for us. A superb day for our traveling Kop!

That’s ten goals and two clean sheets in two away league games for us now… long may that kind of form continue inhabiting our lads! :crossed_fingers:t2::+1:t2:

Can’t be arsed getting into this old argument after such a fantastic win but I have a genuine question for you.
I don’t watch a lot of football other than our matches so answer me this, does Anthony Taylor regularly make mistakes that need correcting by VAR or is it only in Liverpool matches, and can you tell me the last time he had to correct a call when he made a mistake in our favour?

I’m going to listen to TalkSport this morning, which is something I haven’t done for a long time. I think it should be quite entertaining.
