All good now thanks.
My favourite bit was for once we didn’t give them any respect, we just played our natural game… Far too many times we turn up at Old Trafford and shit the bed, was glorious we showed them to be the shite they are.
We played the game in stages, Neville and Tyler were wanking furiously throughout that 20 minute spell (Midweek this and that) before our third but Man Utd we’re producing the occasional half chance and had a decent effort but an easy one for Becker to save.
I think we learnt from the midweek game, get the lead and wait for that third and soak up a bit of pressure if needed.
Second half once the 5th went in and their goal was chalked off we were playing a training session. Possibly the weirdest 30 mins of football I’ll ever watch especially in a game like that, last time I saw that was when we played Huddersfield once, and they were sitting back to protect goal difference at 3-0.
Said before the Watford game tô myself I wish we could have an easy couple of stress free games well we had one then and one a week later however we had to have our usual in midweek.
I hope he plays 500 games for them
Missed my favourite one when he fell into Jota.
I still haven’t seen that. I’ve seen a reference that it should have been red though?
Gotta say, MOTD highlights were embarrassingly brief.
Did any United fans, of those that were left, have the class to applaud the Liverpool players?
I dunno potentially there is cover just depends how quick you think Jota is, I don’t think it’s clear and obvious mistake which means VAR didn’t step in as it did on Pogba.
Sometimes with VAR I have a feeling the ref may ask to check, Taylor took an age on giving it as a foul so I assume his linesman was the one who gave it in his ear or VAR.
I’d have probably gone for a red but in a way I’m glad they didn’t might have covered up the cracks on what was a beating.
Sounds a bit like Vidic floundering against Torres.
Pogba’s was a clear red but I also felt that Ronaldo’s kick at Jones was even more so. Amazed he didn’t get one for his first kick at him, more than the second stab he had when Jones was on the ground.
Was there a possible Fernandes one too? Don’t think I’ve seen that one.
Either way they’ll be getting a fine.
I think Ronaldo was saved by Curtis’s reaction. He just got straight up. If that had happened to Fernandes he’d still be lying there now.
Salahs first goal really shows a) what a top class forward Mo is but also b) how bad United are at the back because when the ball breaks, Mo is behind everyone and he outsprints every Man U defender over 6 foot to get to the ball for a tap in. At the point of Mo connecting with the ball not one Man U player are anywhere near him to make a challenge.
Shaw just lets him go and the rest are ball watching.
Mo deserves huge credit because his reaction is that of a top player who sees things before they happen but its far to easy for him.
I think Watford played better than United. I’m not getting carried away with this. Yes, it’s a big victory against old rivals but they were woeful and we picked up another 2 midfield injuries that we could have done without.
For me, the single best away performance in recent years was away to Leicester in 2019 because they were a bloody good team in a rich vein of form. United were just a clown car yesterday.
Still, the bragging rights should last us until Christmas.
100%. I remember it and it was like watching a container ship in the Suez canal.
Worth noting that all our goals pretty much came down that Maguire / Shaw channel one way or another.
High foot on Keita I think.
It was like a lad had won a competition to play centre back for Utd.
It’s very easy to laugh at Maguire as he’s £80m of pants, but take a look at that goal again paused where Jota is making the pass to Bobby:
You have two on two with Bobby dropping deep to draw Maguire out leaving Salah one on one with Lindelof. Then you have both Keita and Milly goalside of the next United defender.
Great movement from us but their midfielders should be shot for that. Still Maguire stepping up is kind of brain-dead in that situation. It was Lovren-esque.
Loving this…
I wonder what Ed was up to on Twitter yesterday…
The high boot is by Fred but I wouldn’t have given a red for that as he does attempt to negate it at the last minute.
There is malice in the kick by Ronaldo so for me that is a sending off, Pogba has lost control so that’s also a red.
As I said they would probably use it as an excuse.
