I can’t get that archive thing to work anymore. Do you have any ideas as to why ?
This sentence couldn’t be more true.
Absolute bollocks!!
Which other premier league teams below us have won 17 league matches, earning 51 total points?
I only see Aston Villa.
People are only shit talking about the club because they are not happy.
We won the first 5, in a not particularly convincing fashion. If you take away that head start it doesn’t look too clever.
My expectation of this season is that we would struggle to begin with but then improve after the players gelled. That just hasn’t happened. What we see now is that our results are dictated more by our opponents mistakes and ineptitude rather than our own performance.
Yesterday was a great example of that. Essentially we lost 3:0. The two that we scored were entirely down to United being completely lame-brained at the back.
If we take this form into next season we will be mid-table.
At best.
I would normally agree.
But at the moment, it looks arrogant. Like the training ground footage of lads scoring worldies, doing high fives and all the “bro” nonsense. The coffee dock footage and the players arriving dressed like rappers…its not a big deal, it can be entertaining…when you’re winning.
Not now. It looks half arsed, disconnected and in my opinion, disrespectful. We are looking at young men, highly paid, highly skilled who looked less than bothered during this season. You know what, I don’t like the word “entitled”…but we’re entitled, as supporters to a bit more than this.
Would Klopp have allowed that fuckery in the tunnel?
It doesn’t matter if they won all 17 in a not particularly convincing fashion. If we get to 61 points at season end and we finish in 4th or 5th place, then we get what we earn.
If other teams didn’t catch a title winning Liverpool that freefell from 1st place, then that’s their problems. We have enough of our own.
Maybe they need to achieve more unconvincing victories next season.
Pheww… I’m glad I missed this.
That first 20 minutes werea joke.
You know united are going to come for you so keep it tight and work hard…nope. We just didnt bother. This isnt a team that is playing for their manager.
That first 20 summed up the entire season - this is gonna be hard so were arent interested.
I felt for the keeper hes never played there before and looked the nervous. He had zero protection. Its was a gutless and spinless performance that first 45. Only one team wanted it.
This united team arent great. When we did play well from 45-65 United collapsed.
But thanks to us retreating we allow them back in the game.
Why did Rio not start and then when he did come on he come on on the right?
How many times did 1 pass take out our entire midfield for the thousand time this season?
We have no identidy and fuck knows what we do in training.
Im sick of Frimpong already. Hes such a poor player.
Ive been a staunch supporter of Wrtz but the last few games hes been awful - yes i know he scored last week but he was poor all game. Yesterday he looked lost. To be fair yesterday he starts on right - why dont Rio start on right and Wirtz behind the front 1. SLot has bought this lad and hs no idea how to play him or those around him.
Its now so many defeats thats its more a shock when win.
Im sick of this season and sick of slot and his excuses, his lack of tactics.
Roll on end of the month when this shit show of a season ends and hopefully slots reign is over. Im not sure how anyone at the club wants him to stay.
There would be so much pressure on him next season that 1 or 2 defeats in forst 8 games and it will be toxic.
Well1 more won might get us CL. Just not sure I see from where!
@Walshy07
I might disagree with you on a lot of stuff, but this is bang on the money. We are a fucking shambles, a year after winning the league and adding a serious amount of talent.
Rio should look for a transfer if Slot stays, because he won’t become the player he should in the current set up.
It’s the general lack of urgency that gets me. You look at the United goals and even the chances they missed. The Fernandes one springs to mind, the lack of urgency across the entire side is woeful. Te chasing back, marking runners, simply moving even.
That’s not fitness, that’s a mindset.
I don’t understand why, this link works for me, sorry.
Why was Manures 2nd goal allowed?
It came off a hand, the change in direction of the ball was evident!
Even so I’ve been complaining about how our defence doesn’t push out after a clearance and their 1st 2 goals were directly linked to that, and poor coaching at corners for the 1st. The number of times this season the opposition have free midfielders running riot is unbelievable and unforgivable.
We got back in it however Szoboszlai looked shagged by then as Gravenberch and Macca are useless we were bound to crumble.
Our defending is poor and we can not accelerate the game. Only Rio when on the left looks capable of implementing the game plan with an injection of pace.
The tactic is rinse and repeat, all our players hold the ball far too long (as if they haven’t a clue where their partners are) dribble until trapped in a cul de sac look for the pass that’s not there anymore. So lose the ball or play a backward pass that puts us under pressure of 1 opposition player halfheartedly pressing. We need more pace I can only remember once in the game we managed to move the ball create space got the opposition running and even then passed backward and let them off the hook.
Two things can be right at the same time. The club messed up by not getting Guehi. Slot’s fitness regime for the team has been an unmitigated disaster.
Do you know why we are second to every 50/50, every header, late to blocking every shot, especially late in matches?
Because we are a shadow of our former selves in terms of fitness. That’s got nothing to do with Hughes.
Raging about the second goal is kinda pointless. We weren’t good enough. Being beaten by this United side is embarrassing. VAR is a fraud and a joke but we never deserved to get anything from that game.
I’m embarrassed to say that.
It’s a ‘nice’ distraction to how poor the match was, particularly how we played in those 2 moments.
A lot more interesting than discussing how poor Konaté and VVD have become.
We’ll likely qualify even if we don’t take another point.
Sounds like the Tranmere Rovers approach to league survival.
I don’t think so. Aston Villa will win at least one if not two games, and Bournemouth might beat Fulham, draw against Cheaty at home, and then beat Forest to pip us to fifth place.
We need one more win. The best would be to settle things against Chelsea next week-end, at Anfield.
