The fact that we have scored 127 goals (or whereabouts) so far this season in all competitions, with these front 3 as starting front 3, and that’s the highest in all 5 major European leagues, doesn’t bode well with your hypothesis.

Another wasteful 90 minutes and two points dropped, Quansah error let them into the game but a club our size and chasing trophies can’t be blaming young players playing in defence, we should have bought a C/B before the season started like some of us said.
Title still not gone but arsenal will thrash utd, the only hope is spurs taking points off them I think.

Running around isnt the be all and end all for myself he should have scored but because hes mad thats fine its not.

My analysis is this

The main culprit for the dropped points is the problem that we’ve seen against numerous sides - profligacy. We have a habit of not taking our chances when they are offered. It’s the reason why we are out of the FA Cup, and it might - might - cost us the league.

Quansah must, I’m sorry to say, take a massive slice of the blame. That’s not me digging him out or suggesting he gets binned off down to the U21s. As I said earlier, that mistake has been coming for a while. It doesn’t change that he has been brilliant, and if this eradicates some of the overconfident sloppiness in his game, then some good will come of it.

I think its great that we let Quansah establish himself. Much rather that than just be a soulless club of mercenaries like City, rolling through endless lines of £50m back up players.
Show me a CB who has never made a mistake that led to a goal.

Not just Quansah our defence is not good enough, clean sheets no more conceding silly goals most games. It’s good Quansah got a chance but a team chasing the title should have more cover, just look at arsenal defence with 4 goals conceded this year chasing the title.
It isn’t the defence or players, it is how we play, also Arsenal have had their 2 best defenders available for most games and out of the top teams have had the least injuries but they have also had far less games
Well we’ve had horrific injuries that have really limited our options this season, and then we have to re-bed in those who get fit. Arsenal have been extremely lucky in that they haven’t had a meaningful injury all season.
Also worth remembering that this season was not meant to be one where we competed for the title. We didn’t even make top 4 last season and we bought an entire new midfield. The assumption was that it would be a rebuild and take time.
We’re ahead of schedule because of these players. This squad has earned their right to play for the title because its these lads like Bradley, Quansah and Kelleher who have come in and kept us at a level where we are challenging. I don’t like the revisionism of now deciding we fucked up in the summer or winter by not replacing players who have been great for us just because they made an error.

We have Konate but he keeps picking up injuries then only Quansah. We need at least one more top cb.
We’ve not got the starting right back or the best keeper in the world.
It doesn’t much make a difference with say Fernandes but it would have against Man Utd in the cup.
I love Kelleher and he has been a good deputy where frankly most of us wrote our season off when he came in.
It’s all part of a learning curve.

I’m not sure why anyone is convinced that Man City and Arsenal are about to put together a 9 nine game win streak anyway. I think all three of us will drop points again before this season ends. 9 is a lot of games.

Hand on heart. At the start of the season did you honestly think we’d be neck and neck with two other teams in a title race with seven games to go.
No you didn’t. Nobody did.
The fact that we are is in massive part down to lads like Quansah who have stepped up to the plate.

I’m not convinced by City. I think they have a slip in them.
