If Chamberlain can start twice immediately after returning (and played like shit both occasions), then Jones can as well.
Just as a temp measure till we get a permanent CB…he just has to be a big presence ,force strikers to the sideline or byeline, or deliver a ball towards the mid and strikers.
How about getting Militao via a loan?
We need to get our subs into the MOTM poll as mine were Mané and Shaquiri as they actually looked like they wanted to be there. Salah gets a mention for scoring twice.
@Raven the BBC commentator today was Guy Mowbray, not Tyler. You really must get that man out of your psyche
If we had to lose one of these games, I’m glad it was today and not last weekend? I know we would win both of them in an ideal world, but this has been the glass half empty season so trying to restore some balance haha.
My review.
Ali - Love Ali, but was poor tonight, passing was shaky, even coming out for headers and sweeping up looked nervy. Feel he could have done better on one or two of the goals.
Trent - Needs a break, looks a shadow of himself.
Rhys - Feel sorry for him, but he shouldn’t ever start for us again.
Fab - Was okay, gave a few poor fouls which gave one goal which was decisive.
Robbo - Similar to Trent not as extreme but is off form.
Thiago - Was decent, cannot tackle to save his life though.
Millie - Poor for the first in my opinion. Could see his age at times unfortunately.
Gini - Done well for our first , can’t remember too much else to be honest. That doesn’t look great in hindsight.
Salah - Improved from last performances, two goals could have even got a hat trick.
Firmino - See Gini
Curtis - A quiet good performance in my opinion, holds on for a tad too long but was one of our better performers.
Subs - Mane (showed passion, just not enough to make that desired impact) Origi (Pointless really, Give Taki his run out Jürgen ffs) Shaq (20 minutes too late Jürgen). Cannot remember any other subs
They look like cunts. Always have, always will.
OK, OK I got it… I got the wrong guy. i only mentioned him once, FFS!!
I find it difficult to believe we can’t even get a loan signing in who would be a better alternative than Rhys. Not to have a go at the kid because he is left dangling in the wind with his bollox hanging out in that system especially with the space left by TAA pushing upfield.
No CB means, no Fab in the middle, Hendo out means nobody drops into the space TAA leaves leaving Rhys badly exposed especially with his lack of pace. It doesn’t help that TAA and Mo were wasting possession so much in front of him either.
must be so so frustrating for klopp… what a clusterfuck fo a defense and FSG will not be moved
Just have to weather this storm until we get Jota back to liven things up at the front. Even after he was injured I guessed early Feb, despite The Boss saying January. And it looks like the soonest he would be back is around mid Feb. (targeted return 13 Feb)
Naby is officially ruled out indefinitely but I’m guessing he makes a miraculous return just prior to March international break.
TAA needs competition in his position… to me he is a defender in name only… easily gets passed and leaves huge gaps at the back
There’s no way Mo was our MotM in my book. Despite the two goals what did he do?
I said it in the pre match thread but I think he is part of our problem here. His work rate has dropped and his movement is not what it should be. He only seems to come alive when there’s a chance at a pop on goal.
It basically opens up our right side and exposes TAA buit also whoever is in central defense on that side. Going forward I dont think he offers any alternative for TAA who then ends up hitting some hopeful ball into the middle. I some kind of weird way I also think it’s affective Firmino.
I do agree here he looks like he should be playing through the middle
who is this naby you speak of?
we will jus have to take the loss on naby and get rid and try to get another attacking player in his place… dude has been a disaster overall… so sad coz we all had such high hopes for him
They look top four at best. Absolutely one dimensional. We were the better team by miles.
They look like a mid table team that the refs, linesmen and Var are trying to make champions.
The Boss: “We can take a lot, but the Cup is about the result”.
