Post match: Man Utd v Liverpool (FAC 24/1/21 5.00pm)

Agreed so it’s not to do with the pandemic as stated by a previous poster. I just want us to back Klopp as he seems frustrated and not his usual self.

Personally I think that’s due to how we are playing his old smile was back when Salah finished that goal

Sorry I can’t as I don’t have enough knowledge but you said we hadn’t due to a " fucking world wide pandemic"

Its all pandemic clubs were expecting 25% of fans back in grounds by October gradually increasing upto nearly full. That didn’t happen its looking increasingly unlikely you will get any now this season. That will a full year with only 6k fans through gates. What do you think is funding this loss of income and bills still need paying.

I understand but isnt it a balance between spending now ( if possible and a suitable player is available) or possibly missing top four ? I was a bit worried by Klopp’s comments this week …

Clubs that are struggling aren’t even risking future to stop up. That should open peoples eyes.

I’ll tell you something for nothing, we’re being fucked over

Remember that little rant Klopp had at the FA about subs, remember that underground talk of a breakaway Euro superleague - cant come soon enough to escape the English FA

Klopp rant - referee’s looking to fcuk us over - cause and effect lads, cause and effect

This country is one of the most fucking corrupt in the whole world - they just invest loads to confuse you about it; steal more confuse more. It every fucking game, every game now.

But the EFL competent stopper will only be a back up when VVD and Joe return.
It s not feasible to have the worlds 4 best CHs at the same club. 2 have to happy as squad players

That was a poor match. We have an evident lack of purpose that finishes looking like lethargy.
We have some big problems like Thiago at 6 (looks like our Pogba situation) perhaps move him forward and play the double pivot with Hendo, Gini and/or Milner. Personally would like to get Fabinho back at 6. Thiago caused us a lot of problems tonight but then he wasn’t the only one.
You can not leave a young CB like Rhys exposed like we do and tyhen complain about him. Look at how we lost the ball in each of those situations. We need to be on the ball.
Good to see Salah score however he was crap as was Firmino after his 1st we went from poor to awful only after his 2nd did we look like we made an effort but only for 10 minutes. After that it was left upto Mané and Shaquiri.
We need to change our coaching sessions imo just increasing intensity doesn’t fix sideways passing, lack of cohesion on pressing and lack of structure in all phases of the game. We know we have a good group of players and that before our system worked we just need some refreshment.
Btw it is not my fault or Rhys’ fault, for that matter, that the young lad has been thrown in at the deep end with nothing to help him. At least he is showing up.
We improved when Gini and Then Thiago went off, says a lot!

Agree however I won’t get on the refs back until we start playing decent football.

So many snowflakes today.

Guaranteed if we had kept Lovren that right side would have equally disastrous today. We were wrong tactically and United found it and played to it.

Central defender aside I still think there’s something wrong up front and I’ll go as far as saying that Salah is equally at fault as anyone. Going forward TAA’s options are really limited. It’s come to a point where its hit and hope.

I have a small bottle of Chivas Regal. You know, those small bottles they give on flights.

I thought the Thiago move was a strange one in the summer and from what I’ve seen got to agree with what John Barnes nice and silky but slows it down too much.

We are already slow Thiago makes it dead slow. :sob:
He’s clearly a class player however at 6 he hasn’t enough outs for the EPL far too slow.

You could play him tip of a diamond in 442

He needs a little time to adjust to the pace of the league. Issue is we don’t have it or the cover to allow him to make that adjustment.

Another issue I feel is having a strong midfield presence round him. I didn’t see that today with Milner and Gini basically playing harassing roles.

Put him in a set up where he can pull strings and we’ll see a different Thiago.

Im not sure that will make much difference if hes still been slow moving ball.

@RER and @Flobs i couldn’t agree more regarding Thiago. World class player so let me get that out of the way. But he’s not at all being deployed in any unique way. It takes time to “bed-in”, but I’m not seeing any difference.
