Post Match: Marseille v Liverpool (EPL 21/1/26 8pm)

Oh can I just say I am delighted we beat that utterly loathsome individual Mason Greenwood should be in jail.

We stiffled Marseille who couldn’t find any outlet. They are not a poor side just not at this level.
So we dominated it lacked excitement, a bit stale, however we were solid. 0-3 is not to be scoffed at.

Kerkez is really coming along nicely now.
Frimpong is ok however I feel he can not concentrate for more than 5 seconds .

i was a lot less impressed than the majority on here by the looks of things

there are some real moments of absolute quality (Ekitike offside goal, crossbar hit, codys goal, mos left foot effort…to name but a few) which were enjoyable, but it was again, slowed down in moments when it didnt have to be, especially through Dom and Virgil.

i was watching again our press, and even when its positionally good, it looks like players arent actually trying to win the ball, but more show players a direction they want them to go… i know those two things can and should coexist, but once you get to a position of being able to get a foot in, get a foot in…

Frimpong, again, very effective, Jo Go was good, Kerkez as well…Wirtz off the boil a bit.

overall some positives, but our football just doesnt excite…if thats us playing well?..yeah…dunno…

But what a lovely looking scruffy bugger Dom is…

Very good.

Let’s not get carried away, we have been here numerous times this season and towards the end of last season.

Lovely win in a very solid performance away from home in Europe. Top marks you beautiful red men! Three nice goals and lots of good performances out there. The table looks much better and now it is very much in our own hands to advance straight through to the knockout stage.

I picked Gomez as my motm. We just looked more solid back there and I can’t remember him putting a foot wrong.

I also picked Kerkez, who is starting to settle in nicely. Well done that lad.

My other pick was Frimpong, who has been playing well post injury. Even from the fullback position he got forward to offer a threat, and his pace really helps to unlock it.

I’m pleased for Arne Slot too. Hopefully we carry this into the Premier League as we need to improve there.

Seriously there was nothing wrong with tonight.

Dad thoroughly enjoyed today’s match. He told me that he was quite relaxed, unlike that last number of matches. And me? I’m just happy with our boys controlled the 90 minutes, a number of Ooo’s and Ahhh’s when we were so close to increase the lead. The only part that got me somewhat nervous was the minor lapse at around the 90-min mark that we almost lost the clean sheet…and I did not yell at the TV set like an old man yelling at the sky.

Very enjoyable watch. We played well, as we always do against teams who are trying to beat us.
Our problems are with the teams whose only ambition is not to be beaten. The lowblock, long throw, set piece, PL dross.

À lot better performance as a team. 3-0 flatters them.

How did your son enjoy the match Flobs? I presume he’s a red.

Phew, we won. Losing to Marseille would be unthinkable given the state of their league.

French ligue is in pretty bad shape overall with only PSG looking very likely to go into the next round( or at the least the playoffs) while our opponents tonight is teetering on the edge of going out completely…

I think he was too far from the pitch. He said in real life they are worst than on the TV . That was before any goals (he also needs new glasses so he saw blurred).
I think he had a good time. I’m also sure his ‘stepdad’ was moaning all the time as usual .

I loved the result, but I thought we looked way too open on our left when we were pressing and felt a better team would have hurt us down that side as Kerkez was having to cover 2 players a lot, however he was exceptional in his decision making and as I have said all season he is an excellent 1 v 1 defender, he enjoys winning the duel!

Oh and I still thought we should have on balance of play won 6 - 1
