Gomez was a horror show and I hope we don’t see him at CB again. Quansah was fine once he moved central. Biggest issue today for Joe was letting everyone come inside. You can do that when you play at RB and you know they are coming infield towards a CM and CB but you can’t do it as a CB, there is no cover. That second goal was an absolute joke, pathetically weak defending and then he did it again 2 minutes later which earned him the hook.
For about 60 minutes we played horribly, couldn’t find a pass and were miles too open. Gravenberch and Mac Allister were poor, thought Jones was too high up the field too although it was clearly a tactical request.
Newcastle really are a horrible, horrible team. It baffles me that referees haven’t figured out Anthony Gordon yet, he dives everytime he gets the ball yet they all still fall for it. He’s a limited, shit player who makes up for it by throwing himself to the ground and getting easy free kicks. I have a particular distaste for his ‘style’. I wish referees cared as much about punishing his cheating as they did about punishing midfielders for shoulder-to-shoulder challenges.
Diaz charging into the penalty area at the end, has his shirt held the entire way as he gets past multiple players and into the penalty area - then gets pushed over and the referee waves it away. Meanwhile the free kick that led to the winning goal was just Barnes throwing himself down to the ground with no contact and the commentator was talking about Mac Allister being in danger of getting sent off.
Robertson suddenly looks very old these last few weeks even with the team itself playing well and getting good results. I think LB is clearly a priority area for reinforcement for the 2025/26 season.

Mistakes happen to the best of them but it’s moments like that which seperate world class from just being very good. Let’s never take Ali for granted, he didn’t work his way to being the best keeper in the world from nothing.
Reinforcements in Jan please, get a new DM and a CB. Endo must have nudes of Arne or something I don’t know but his lack of game time is inexplicable, looks like he doesn’t want to use Harvey at all either.

Firmino was a totally different player to Darwin. We need a better nine. I love his industry, but we can’t be having .9 xG chances getting spaffed every time he plays.
