Looking forward to the CL. Any team that plays Newcastle will be my favorite team for 90 minutes. Well, almost any team

ā€˜We work really hard for these momentsā€™

FT: Newcastle 1-2 Liverpool

Liverpool

Liverpool matchwinner and man of the match Darwin Nunez speaking to Sky Sports: ā€œI feel very happy for the team to be able to help them. After we went a man downthe team played really well. We work really hard for these moments, and I am happy to score the two goals to help the team.ā€

Newcastle are a well structured team especially in front of their fans, never going to be easy but concentration is massive and that is one area that Trent needs to improve

Subsidised by Maneā€™s departure, Origiā€™s departure( on a free but freed up wages) and Minaminoā€™s departure and to a certain extent, Ben Davies and Neco Williams. Oh, you didnā€™t realise?

Oh yeah, sureā€¦ I fully agree with you one thing, FSG did stump up the fee for Nunez but somehow kept the P&L balanced with so many departures.

I am not going criticise anyone who played that match for us.

Gomez and Matip from 45 onwards let one chance if I remember rightly the midfield were amazing and Darwin did what I said he had to do, take his chances and boy did he.

This might be a critical win to instill believe and bring back the mentality monster out of the boys again. Great tactical switch and Subs from Klopp, changed the game for us. We absorbed the pressure and hit them when given the opportunity. Not that Endo was playing bad, but when Elliott came on for him, there was more link up and creativity from the center of the pitch. We kinda got lucky with the first goal with the deflection coming off the CB, but what a hit by Darwin. He definitely needs to start and be given more game time to get into a rhythm.
For me the VVD red card was super harsh, but the moment that I felt was a game changer was Ali making that crazy save on Alimon. Had that have gone in, it wouldā€™ve been heads dropped and game set match.
FSG needs to back Jurgen and sign some players. I think this team is teetering on the cusp of something special, yet it can be on the cusp of disaster after this season with Klopp and Co all leaving.
Hopefully some wonderful signing will come in, and I am still stoke on todays win :fire: .

Itā€™s obviously all about Nunez but that is an unbelievable performance for over an hour with 10 men against a supposed Champions League team. Ali, Szoboszlai, Robertson, Gomez, Macca, i could go on.

Incredible, well done lads, what a team.

My take is that our squad isnā€™t too bad as everyone coming on made a difference.

Also Szobo is the difference his pace, technical ability, passiing and running with the ball helps us break the lines, I have a new favourite midfielder a snip at what we paid, have him any day over Caicedo etc

Absolutely massive result after the way it came about. It should provide quite a kick-starter for whatā€™s next.

Kloppā€™s subbing on Jota, Elliott and Nunez was a master stroke.

There are no words to accurately describe Nunez. You see his piss poor touch on Elliottā€™s wonderful lofted pass that would have put him through and you want to tear your hair out. He then produces two immaculate finishes in the last 10 minutes that end up being the difference between 0 points and 3 and you canā€™t contain yourself. He truly is crazy.

Now get a defender and stop shooting yourselves in the foot. That whole sequence of misplaced passing and bad communication between their goal and van Dijkā€™s sending off was painful to watch. We are so much better than that.
