Something @Maria said (in jest?) On the in match thread was that we seem to play better with 10 players.
There is almost something in this. When we were a man down the level of concentration seemed to go up. At the start we looked like headless chickens. We often do these days.
I’m delighted with the result but we are going to have to be more disciplined if we are going to properly integrate the new players.

Watched the match in a bar in Phnom Penh. Liverpool fans and surprisingly a number of loud toonie fans. They were boisterous until Nunez did his thing. Jota and Elliot changed the game. Not going to say they are now the best, but the 2 CD who were ‘not good enough’ for us, were the pairing who kept us in the game along with the irresistible Alisson. Had not felt such a rush coming back to win a game when all odds are against us.

A lesson in modesty for me. I was angry when Klopp subbed Diaz off and thought how on earth can you…? But I forgot that he’s the man who spends 7 days a week with them and I am the one who sits at home watching them once a week. And also regarding TAA : bad game, but in the last minutes he played a killer pass and when he agitated the away fans and when you saw him after the final whistle…wow, just wow.

Salah’s assist was great for the second and played his part in the first. That’s why he had to play the full 90. Was gutted when he was subbed against Chelsea but glad Klopp left him on the pitch for the entire game.

I only posted one thing in the depressing in-match thread and it may have been the only positive post. Dirk beating the bitters when we played with 10 men.
Hope this was a good learning opportunity for new supporters who don’t know that you never know what this team can do when “it’s down”.
