I personally don’t get offended by any chant that I hear directed at us - of course I am not from Liverpool so maybe that makes a difference.
The one chat that does FUCK me off though is anything about

Right now the focus has to be on racism mainly, and homophobia. The ‘sign on’ stuff is just meant to wind us up; it’s not really a slur, and most of the people who sing it are in the same boat anyway. There might be a time where it’s felt that there needs to be more awareness and education of socioeconomic insults but, for now at least, there are more important issues to tackle

Go on to the Gooner forum and see the murdering, bin dipping, scum comments. The references to scrounging etc are discriminatory to a city and its people, and if those comments were aimed at any other cohort of people, it would be condemned.
