You said he was clearly offside and VAR should have intervened. He wasn’t and it shouldn’t. I assume you mean he wasn’t offside but that next time Mo is level with the last defender they will use thinner lines to make sure he is offside? Yes, I’m sure that’s exactly what will happen.
There’ll be enough arms around him in the dressing room and in training to make up for the slap. I’ve seen enough of Milly (watching the kids v Shrewsbury instead of taking time off) to know that he has the best intentions for every one of our playing staff. He was right to rollick him in the moment but will be explaining to him in training that the pace is different in an EPL game.
As to the game. Great all round from the lads. The front four (including Bobby coming on) all played their part. The midfield put a shift in. I thought they coped, but the intro of Fab stepped us up a gear. Good for the season ahead that we won’t have to run our regular starters into the ground to get results.
Trent was imperious going forward, and don’t let me hear opposition fans saying he can’t defend. Ali was just great whenever he was called into action.
Looking at the bench and those not yet on the bench reiterates my point above regarding player rotation.
Well done to our travelling Reds fans too. The 5h17e soundtrack that accompanied games without fans can now be consigned to the deepest darkest bin the telly people can find.
It was also great to get back into matchday rituals. Lucky tee shirt, undies, sock, watch and bracelet on and lucky hanky in my pocket.
Can’t wait for next week when I’ll join my two Nephews and travel over to the match. Some more rituals, including singing in “Shitty ground” as we pass Woodison. Buying our matchday badge from Paul opposite the Arkle. Kissing my Brother’s stone on 96 Way and getting our hot chocolates from Michelle behind The Kop.
Can’t Wait
Also Milner is the one player that I think would know how far he can push every other player. So if he gave Kostas a slap he knows that it wont have a negative effect
Millie would not be holding a grudge because Tsimi did not return the ball back to him during last year’s preseason (Millie shouted " F***ing hell Kostas’"), would he?!

Not me of course…
But some on here will say that should be… tee jersey.!
I wonder how many highly paid consultants sat round a table all of last year before deciding that the solution was ‘thicker lines’
How have we gone from Norwich Liverpool post match to Pep’s cocaine habit?
In your opinion oke but for me it was clearly offside and they let it ride but in a comparable situation Mo will be given offside, I have no doubt about it. That’s what I meant.
We have copied the Dutch thats all.
Does anybody else think Tsimikas looks like he has been awake constantly over the last 48hrs.
The bloke looks like he done a few night shifts
I agree. They can bring in as many new directives for VAR as they like, twats like Coote and Atkinson will still fuck us over wherever possible. They have clearly manipulated VAR in the past to do this and there’s no reason to think they wont do it again.
I want commission!..
(October last year)
Didn’t Arsene come out with some absolutely atrocious idea.
Glad they basically went with something simple.
I look forward to Kick It Out condemning other clubs when they sing “Sign On” and other anti-Scouse chants.
I won’t be holding my breath, however.
Can we all agree that @Quicksand opens threads?
Wouldn’t want to miss a few heartbeats seeing some courageous have-a-go…
Yip, hopefully the 18/19 version of @GermanRed, and then retire at the end of the season in order to prevent the 19/20 version.
It really is that simple. Gotta win them all. Somebody will do it one day, might as well be us.
@Quicksand quick, open the next matchday thread, quickly.
