Post Match: Plymouth Argyle v Liverpool (FAC 9/2/25 3pm

I was thinking about Elliot, pretty sure the consensus here was that he was terrible, and then thought back to last he played in a “weakened” team, where he was again terrible. Wondering if he is only capable of producing a strong performance in a strong team.

I think the rule from @Dutch is you need 2 full games to make a judgment.

A lot of players will be like this though. I expect a defence with Konate or VVD in is immensely better than one without whoever they are playing with. Same a CM with Maca or Grav.

Not to mention an attack with or without Salah.

They are world class players for a reason.

It’ll stop the ridiculous quadruple talk.

Treble is much easier to spell

As soon as Gomez went off injured I knew it would be a bad day for us however after a big disappointment the moral of the story is:

  1. We have 4 less games to play potentially
  2. And as someone said above Arseteta must be gutted as I am sure he must have celebrated us making the EFL cup final.
  3. Everton will be facing our first team on Wednesday

All the typical we lost cliches in that.

Having an argument for the penalty is laughable.

Looking at some of their challenges, I’m glad we didn’t play many 1st team players.

Magic of the cup getting sythed down by a lower league player.

I thought Quansah was our best player, especially on the ball

Agree, hate us losing.

Talking of which, ‘been’ is not the same as ‘being’.

Woke up early and now grumpy.

What a difference in our last two outings!
It’s like day and night.
Even we had a weaker side on the pitch, I expected a little bit more.
Well done, Plymouth.
