Adrian clear man of match for demonstrating to Kopstar that he is nowhere near as useless as Joe Cole. His performance got LFC into the quarterfinals. Cole didn’t even manage that for West Ham when he was a Liverpool player.

Good response to a pretty poor first half very impressed with Morton and Neco so went with those two. Needed Phillips on a night like this at the back and they did very little once he came on.

Said Origi can finish in his thread it’s pretty much everything else and that was kind of proven tonight.

Adrian’s second save is good and he looked calm and composed after that but that first worried me somewhat however it gave him some confidence and he wasn’t any issue in the end.

Neco deserved a goal though

As for Preston that eyebrows bloke got on my nerves.

Shockingly Coote managed that quite well I thought.

Okay, that was the most casual banger i have ever seen. Div doing what he does best

Only 17 minutes out on the Divock worldie predictor then. The pundits would still be creaming themselves if one or two others had pulled that off.

Don’t know why there was so much discontent with the first half. It’s always possible (probable!) to get a performance like that when the team is so mixed and matched. Harvey Blair has barely played any football for 2 years, Jones is just coming back from injury, Origi from illness, Gomez is recovering etc.

Neco easily MOTM for me. Goal line clearance, involved in both goals. No contest.

Morton looked really good - he is usually an ‘8’ for the youth sides and I definitely don’t think he’s dynamic enough for that role in our first team but as a ‘6’ he looks really comfortable in the two senior games he’s played.

Bradley had a good game off the bench.

Not a classic, but you have to expect that when you play Preston away in the 4th round of this cup.

Thankfully got into motion halfway through the 2nd - was about to nod off at that point.

My standout player was Tyler (Durden) Morton. Cool headed all night and good reading of the game.
I see a Tony Kroos style player developing there.

Motm with Adrian close behind. Neco almost didn’t get my vote for his “desperate Sadio” move to blow our goal average :upside_down_face: His defensive face tipped it in his favour though.

Ox got distinctly better as soon he restrained himself to be the Regista together with Tyler - was a far better managed match from then on.

2nd Man of the Match has to be Origi, for the hacky-sack goal right out of the '80s. He just needs some dreads to complete the look.

3rd Man, William’s face, obviously.

Wish Coote had booked them for Towel use, fine take a long throw but it was taking forever at one point, it’s a bit of a joke and once Phillips was on they were all crap anyhow.

I kind of wanted Neco to grab the towel wipe the ball and then take a short throw at one nil up.
