Top of the CL. Rested the big guns for Saturday. Gave the young fellas a run out. The match will be forgotten by next week, never mind the end of the season.
Onwards!

Entertaining game and we probably deserved a draw, McConnell man of the match. Finished top of the league that’s all we could do.

Feel for Nalo.

Thought the lads did well, esp Chiesa and Danns.

Finished top still, amd rested key players for the big one on the weekend.

Can sit back now (focus on the league) and see who we get out of PSG, Monaco, Brest or Benfica in the last 16.

An excellent and important night for all these young lads. Invaluable experience for them at top level, in front of a vibrant crowd and a difficult opposition, congrats to them.

MoM on our side: Chiesa, who oozed class, especially during the first half. Very promising. Special mention for Danns, wh looked brilliant at times. Mc Connell deserves a mention as well. :+1:

We stay top of the CL, even if it doesn’t mean much going forward. The real competition will start with the direct confrontations. Nobody will want to meet us at this stage. Looking forward to it.

Manchester City will face either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich

so was that an error? they showed madrid against bayern on the board

I’m really struggling beyond Chiesa and McConnell. Went for Endo as third choice, but it was very slim pickings.

The match didn’t mean a lot, but I would have loved for this team to stand over Europe with a 100% record. If it helps against Bournemouth it’s worth it.

I’m disappointed in a few of the lads who really should have been using the opportunity to put themselves in slot’s thoughts didn’t step up at all. Not one of them made any case at all that they should be in the first team ahead of the lads left at the AXA.

Finally, on Chiesa, he was my man of the match, but fucks sake lad. You’ve got ten mates out there. You’re allowed to pass the ball.

Would have been fantastic to have managed the draw after all the effort made by the team put out.

Really? I though he was fucking awful. Looked like he was trying to control a ping pong ball wearing rubber boots at times.

You are too harsh on the teenager, mate. :joy:

There was a great moment in the first half, where he took the ball under control, spun two players and found a pass, but beyond that he looked miles off this level.

I’ve been really impressed with his cameos, and I was really looking forward to seeing what he could do with a start, but I thought he struggled.

Agreed on Chiesa. And what stuck out for me was his mentality. I mean he wanted to score, which led to some poor decisions…

I thought Elliott did well in the first half. Scored one and could have had the opener if the ref had played advantage at the penalty.

I thought we went too hell-for-leather at the start and you could see players tiring.

I did appreciate how good our centre backs normally are. The lack of organisation tonight was telling.

Danns was anonymous for most of the game.
