I’m sure that was due to playing with inferior players and the pressure to make an impression. He hasn’t shown signs of it before.
Bradley and Quansah did nothing to put pressure on the guys in the starting team. Both were poor overall.
Thought the ref was too quick whipping out the red card, on review it appeared Quansah was in a covering position.
Chiesa looked lively, lots of tricks and really ran himself into the ground. He looked a right handful.
Yeah he’s been very team like in his cameo.
If he was passing it off he would get criticised for shirking his responsibility as a senior player.
No.
It really wasn’t.
Honestly, it just wasn’t.
If that had been VVD or Konate the fume would be immense.
But Nallo missing next matches is no big deal?
He had his debut ruined by an over zealous ref, and VAR were twiddling their thumbs or watching the City match.
Awful decision.
Kicking someone in the balls is a red for me whoever and wherever it is.
Nallo was too complacent imo he had the opportunity to protect the ball however was too slow and got caught having to try a silly clearance in a silly manner.
The ref was awful!
He was very slow to react, was caught totally unaware. But not too unexpected.
The fume would have been immense had it been in our favour and it wasn’t given. And rightly so.
He got the ball. Which ball is irrelevant
Missed this game due to work but watched the 90 earlier today.
An unlucky insignificant defeat with an unrecognisable team!
James McConnell was outstanding on his third Liverpool start in midfield. Jarrell Quansah and Fede too.
A harsh and cruel red for Nallo.
Either PSG, Benfica, Monaco or Brest in the last 16 of the Champions League.
YNWA
A triple negative!
Quansah, I think it was, looked like he was in position to cover to me which would have eliminated the DOGSO but the red was in the refs hand before Bakayoko even hit the ground.
Yeah I gave MOM to McConnell. I thought Morton gave glimpses of his taken in his cameo also
He is a top class player and his decision making is also top class, once he plays with our ringers left at home he will be a top class asset provided obviously he can stay fit until the end of the season.
Not by McConnell as he will likely treasure his first Champions League start. Same for Danns I guess.
And Arne Slot
PSV just (re-)made the shit list.
I would be curious to hear if the ref awarded the red for DOGSO or simply thought a hard kick between the legs from behind that squarely caught the players balls (which were not particularly close to the actual ball) was sufficiently violent to warrant a red.
From my amateur perspective I’d say either reason is debatable (as you point out Quansah was running from the middle to cover and could have been closed enough it should not have been a red for DOGSO). However, I didn’t at the end of the day feel like there is a great argument on aggregate Nallo didn’t deserve a red.
