Post match: Southampton v Liverpool (EPL 17/5/22 7.45pm)

Good write up but Robertson was on the bench

But he was excellent, didnā€™t put a foot wrong and showed great commitment

Who? Andy Robertson?

One thing I think we will benefit from next season is 5 subs, itā€™s quite restrictive in the last few weeks and itā€™s certainly shown how beneficial it is for us in Europe.

The way Man City have managed their core playing group I see it being less of an advantage there.

Yep, one of the best performances from the bench Ive seen this season

Someone should send Stevie videos of Cityā€™s matches against Spurs, Southampton and Palace. Might get some tips on how to play them without losing.

Give Gerrard some credit. He knows how to set up a team. Against us, he played two up top with attacking midfielders supporting. Not many teams do that.

He changed his team to face us by trying to exploit our high line, and not let us pass it out easy from the back. Iā€™m sure he has a plan for $hitty.

Liverpool broke another record today by becoming the first team to be only 2 games away from the quad. The previous record was 3 games away from a quad, held by Liverpool and shared with no one, not even those financially doped pretenderā€™s.

Not a bad season and if things go well this weekend, we might just have another record in the books for the pursuit of the mythical quad.

Amen.

Went for Matip Konate and Kostas for MotM. It was a very good team performance without many of our regular starters but that needs to come from a solid base and they provided it. Gomez was good in the first half as well but that lad canā€™t buy luck, can he?

What a difference to this time last year when there was a good chance we could miss out on European qualification?

Atkinson was a disgrace. He pulled the same shit in 19/20 when we played the scum at the toilet. He let a clear foul go on Origi, they got the ball and scored on the counter. Not to mention that he had a direct hand in the title race the previous season by refusing to award the most blatant of penalties on Keita against Leicester.

Yesterday it was par for the course with him. Seemed like he wanted to give a parting shot before he fucks off once and for all. Cunt canā€™t retire soon enough. Good riddance.

Iā€™m still livid about that.

And Howard Webbā€™s shocking performance when we lost at Chelsea in December 2013 which cost us that seasonā€™s title, not Gerrardā€™s slip.

Assuming that City beat Villa on Sunday, this will be the third time in the last nine seasons that we have been blatantly robbed of the league title.

Itā€™s fucking sickening.

Still in the chase and resting players, couldnā€™t be better.

We just need to be professional and beat wolves and hope Stevie does us a favour.

Another excellent team performance. Good to see Bobby back on form and also good to see Curtis sparkling.Onward and upward. Remarkably the fight for the EPL is still on.

Excellent piece from Barney, there are a few gems in it. :joy:

Yeah heā€™s had a few cup games against lower-league opposition but nothing in the PL. It stinks of him being eased back in gradually because those in power know heā€™s a cheat and have no plausible explanation for his decisions that day.
I actually believe our club grew a spine for once after that game and went after him behind the scenes, something they should be doing with Kavanagh and Tierney.

Guess who was VAR for the aforementioned Origi incidentā€¦?

Ha ha never knew that. Itā€™s genuinely as corrupt as the Italian league was.

I didnā€™t realise Villa had to play on Thursday. I wonder if Gerrard dares to rotate a few out and keep his big guns safe for Sunday ?

Imagine him rolling over for Burnley , Everton get relegated , and then he pulls out a result at City.

Thatā€™s the dream scenario, but I canā€™t see it happening judging by the way they played against us.
