Yes, plenty of people.
Wow, that decision to allow Southamptons goal by the ref AND not referred by VAR is a disgrace. This just proves to me that the refereeing in the EPL is bent and filled with little brown envelopes all over.
wouldnāt be surprised if this comes out like to Italian league a few years back.
Itās just getting more blatant year on year.
Let me know who they are.
Iāve got some magic beans for sale.
If we go in front on Saturday before the cheats there are going to be some scenes at Anfield!
Sadly Villa are playing on Thursday, have nothing to play for and likely to be without Mings and Konsa.
Not looking goodā¦
Being without Mings can only be viewed as a positive in my opinion. Up there with the worst cbs in the league.
OK, against my better judgement Iāll bite.
Let me ask you about Chris Kavanagh, the referee from Greater Manchester.
How do you explain his failure to tell Tierney to review Rodriās handball at Goodison?
How do you explain his failure to tell Tierney to review Kaneās tackle on Robertson and then later on tell him to review a far less dangerous tackle by Robertson which led to a red card?
How do you explain his failure to tell Tierney to review the blatant foul on Jota in the same match that would have resulted in a penalty and yet this is the same referee who awarded Everton a penalty at Anfield last season when Calvert-Lewin ran in to TAA who was sitting on the ground with his back turned?
All totally baffling and inexplicable calls.
Iām genuinely intrigued by how you interpret those decisions.
They still have Ings, Watkins and Coutinho to terrorize a Man Shitty defence patched up by a 35yo midfielder, a CB that could brake down at any time, and a right fullback that could piss off at H/T to go find some hookers for that nights bunga bunga party
Itās fairly simple. These refs are probably biased, either against us or in favour of another team.
The refs are shite
Youād think, in these days of stats and measurement of every metric of what players do, it would be easy to apply the same methods to refs.
Count how many decisions they make in favour/against certain teams. Look at how many of those decisions are clear cut, how many controversial and see if there is a pattern of bias. If so, remove them from games involving those teams.
Thereās clearly something inherently wrong with the reffing. That they donāt/do give cards based on the reputation of players. That they āmake up forā bad decisions later in the game or in a different game by compounding it by making another bad decision.
The rules should be the rules and they should be applied consistently throughout the season. Obviously there is an element of judgement involved, is it a foul, does it deserve a yellow, does it deserve a red etc.
It needs sorted root and stem. With independent regulation. The trick is finding appropriate people without any bias. Which is probably more difficult than you might think
Inexplicable decision that the foul was not blown but I watch lots of Premier League games and see that sort of stuff happening all the time. I hear the moans about the very same refs from my hammers supporting mate and particularly when they play us.
Look at this. That was a blatant penalty and to add insult seconds later the young Everton defender gets a red. Is that corrupt or just poor refereeing? Substitute Salah for Richarlison and VVD for the Everton red and this place would have explodedā¦we only ever cite the ones that affect us but it is going on all the time.
Is it only corrupt if it affects us. The aforementioned friend can recite a whole string of decisions against West Ham that to him prove evidence of bias. Two against us. The ball out of play on the touchline that was then centred for our goal a few years back and the āassaultā on their keeper by Mane before the Jota goal ā¦last season? I bet most of us donāt even remember them but like some people here, he stores them up as proof they get refereed differently to us and the other top sides.
Absolutely. I would pay them better at all levels to attract more into the profession/hobby, hence more to choose from at elite level. Then make the PL refs train as much as professional footballers. Instant demotion if they fail fitness tests. They should also have to complete psychology training (possibly even some psychotherapy) that forces them to examine their own biases (which we all have) and be self-aware of how these could affect their decision-making. They should also be more accessible and transparent. Either miked up during game like rugby refs or speak to media after.
Thatās just for startersā¦
Ok Ramblerā¦
We cite the decisions against us becauseā¦its a Liverpool supporters forum. I think that is important, dont you?
I know your West Ham mate and your penchant for Blue Moon gazing equalises everything for you, but by in large you fail to address the actual amount and the importance of decisions against Liverpool.
Last night, Atkinson can clearly see the foul on Jota. No decision? In a match that may hand City the title?
Its been done ad nauseum here regarding decisions against Liverpool, and more importantly why these decisions may occur.
We lost poibts vs Spurs this season because Kane stayed on the pitch. City escaped with a horrific decision vs Evertonā¦
I have stated it is inexplicable but what annoyed me more was that apparently VAR could not get involved because of the constraints on how it can be used.
So serious questionā¦is the Everton example another case of corruption / bias or just poor refereeingā¦
How do you know that. Did we gain points because Reece James got sent off?
Seeious answer, I dont know.
My honest opinion is Chelsea changed shape when James was sent off and sat in banks of four.
Klopp alluded to that himself.
So, we possibly would have beeb better off playing eleven.
But thats just opinion.
I am confident we would have beaten Spurs though.
Again, its opinion.
