3 points is all that matters but already a few things emerging for Slot and Hughes to sort in the summer.

If Trent does leave Bradley shouldn’t be walking into that RB role next season.

Grav is proving a lot of people wrong but we need another option there that Slot trusts. Clearly Endo isn’t for him.

A CF should be on the shopping list. Nunez isn’t it, Jota picks up too many injuries.

Mo needs a new contract. Just give him what he wants because god knows how you’re replacing him right now.

Interesting to see how aggressive we are against Madrid in the week. Definite improvement needed on today from plenty of lads but we do seem to be able to keep finding a way to overcome obstacles we’re mostly putting in our own way.

Playing away, albeit at the bootom of the table Southampton. Dom with an early goal after Southampton mess up playing out from the back.

Virgil does a Matip impression but then messes up by losing hte ball in a stupid way, then Robertson mistiming his tackle. Ref gave a pen, so VAR needed conclusive proof to rule it out the box. Kelleher with a pen save but luck on Armstrong’s side and ball went back to him to knock it in.

Got from bad to worse with Fernandes on a break from our corner. Dom went hard fot the ball to intercept, missed it, so he was out the game. Three covering players all wen tin the same action leaving Fernandes free to get the goal.

Up steps Mo as usual, with nice awareness to roll the ball in to equalize, then lifting his pen high to give McCarthy no chance to save it.

Dom was gassed for the final 10 minutes, so was surprised to see him stay on. Surely a fresh player makes more sense to do the press up top that Dom was tasked with but couldn’t in those final few minutes. Tyler Morton was on the bench, so imo should’ve been used.

On to Wednesday against Real Madrid. I’d like to see some rotation for that game (such as Gomez), as we head into the crucial game next weekend.

Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai to Sky Sports: “They are a good team, good with the ball. They scored two quick goals but the most important thing was the reaction. We showed it very well and happy with the three points.”

On his goal: “We had a couple of meetings before the game and we know they build-up from the back. Sometimes they do well, sometimes they make mistakes and that was the case here. We pressed really well and got the goal.”

On Mohamed Salah: “Everyone knows Mo. He just has to keep going and I hope I play with him for as long as I can.”

On going eight points clear: “It is a great feeling but it is the beginning of the season. We just need to continue and not think where the other teams are.”

Didn’t think Szobo would leave for Saudi so soon

Every time the add one of the gang of 8 to the list of officials you know they are going to do their best to try and affect the result against Liverpool (oliver). We won again after the internationals in the first half our players looked jaded Robbo should not have played he totally emptied the tank for Scotland and the Siuth Americans looked jet lagged but the Egyptian king came to the rescue again please FSG/Hughes/edwards give this man his dues until we manage to find a replacement if it is at all possible it is the first time this season I felt stressed like last year YNWA

Bradley can be the player that closes out games for us while TAA is tired or injured…Currently, he is not a starter yet…

Grav is magnificent today with that assist. One lofted ball to the edge of the penalty box caught the opposition GK in 2 minds.

If we can combine Nunez’s pace and strength with Jota’s finishing and movement into 1 player, holy fuck, this team is gonna win the treble.

Salah is just one hell of a player…

That was a very rusty performance. I thought Kelleher had a good performance. He nearly had the penalty saved and could do nothing for the second but made a few crucial stops elsewhere.

Mo is an absolute gem. Even if he did get a needless yellow card showing off his torso in the middle of a storm. Dickhead.

I think Robbo needs to consider his international commitments. He played a blinder for Scotland but all these extra matches are taking their toll.

3 points is very welcome. Even Oliver couldn’t fiddle us out of that.

Salah has been unbelievable this season. Last year I was all for selling him, his game seemed off and he was getting angry with Klopp. Seems like he’s got his mojo back. Today he delivered the goods again.

Kelleher has let in 7 goals in his last 2 games so it’s about time he delivered a clean sheet.

Mo had an injury last season. This season he is fit, and the Egyptian national team aren’t overusing him.

The first half was terrible in terms of the attitude displayed by the defence. Bradley and Konate went too hard in the beginning and got yellows. VVD went on that stupid ass run at 1-0 up into a whole host of Soton players around him. Lost the ball and failed to make a proper recovery run.

Robbo was unlucky to have caught the player so close to the penalty box for VVD’s mistake.

That one opposition goal in the first half forced LFC to go more offensively gungho.

The beginning of the second half was no better with the entire defence caught napping after an offensive corner for LFC…

The subs changed the game. Diaz went direct and head to head with the opposition full-back and winger. Macca helped to add some bite to the midfield.

Yeah we’ve certainly benefited from Salah staying back for internationals

Bradley looked suspect again today. Felt he was very naive for their 2nd. Would rather start Joe Go until TAA is back.

Konate looked like he was out last night. VVD uncharacteristically poor was well for the 1st goal.

There’s no easy games in the Premiership so they say and so it proved. We always seem to either score a hatful or struggle against bottom four or five teams in the league. Think the weather conditions spoiled a lot of the game today but struggled mainly in the first half. The front three looked a lot better when Diaz came on and Mo once again proved to be our saviour. Thought Robbo’s foot was just outside of the box when they got their penalty but we’re never going to get much if Oliver is involved.December is going to be a tough month for us but so was November and look where we are now.

Love a nice easy stroll on the south coast

But I’ll take what we got today as well.

I think we can pick at performances but generally I feel the team is cohesive together as well. Dom had a good game today for me.

If the intent was to get the 3 points with as little effort as possible, then mission accomplished. As is often the case after international breaks, we were very lethargic, which was frustrating as hell. Results are what matters though and we are top of the table.
