Come on he got the ball, didn’t he?
My commentators said his arm was in a natural position, I agreed a natural position to block the ball, so for me penalty for the rest of insanity no penalty. FFS!
First time I’ve seen that.
High - tick
out of control - tick
studs showing - tick
2 footed - tick
didn’t play the ball - tick
Smelly vision in full glory going on here.
Oddly Klopp didn’t react.
This kind of stuff should stay on Twitter, imo.
Okay @Prolix. Just ignore it then.
Apparently, Old Whisky Nose has got possession of the memory card out the camera. Shows some well hung Lady Boys giving it to them good style…!!
Rumour has it, the Cheaty oil sheikhs have offered him a fortune for it.!
another option other than Jota and Origi, sure if you’re playing FIFA20. But that’s not how the real world works and it’s certainly not the way LFC work.
to quote your previous post I was replying to:
I don’t understand the logic of going out and buying a Target Man style of striker as you’ve clearly stated, especially considering the epic failures the last FOUR of them have been in our system. two of the past four (Lambert and Benteke) have been under Klopp
Origi isnt good enough, is he? I dont play FIFA, but Jota is an immense talent, but not a No 9 for me.
The logic is we need something different because the opposition are compressing the space so we have no room to penetrate with 2 wide forwards and a false 9; just like the era of 442 even 451 paled away, this era of 433 and the high press seems to be going the same. All teams are now using a high press, mostly. We keep getting snuffed out by two banks of 4 or more; we need another option, a more direct striker would help. I even think Crouch wasnt good enough. Lewandowski was though when Klopp had him at Dortmund. What about Torres, how would a player like that help us now? Suarez even.
We dont have a striker at the club! Its a fair point. If we could do this in game, or at least confuse the opposition into how we are going to set up, we might be able to stay ahead of this chase. But I think we have been worked out, our full backs have no space to cross and if they do the space they cross into is congested; this was the case with WBA, SHC, Brighton, Fulham and Spurs.
And less of the FIFA sleight please…
It’s not that far out of the realms of what we need to do next though is it?
I love… Sorry I fucking love Bobby but his “off-days” are becoming far more the norm than his “on”. And when literally your offensive engine cog is missfiring your front line missfires…
Is he burnt out? Do teams know how to counter him? Whatever the reasons, he is 29… We are close to the tipping point of needing to start thinking about his replacement no?
When I think Klopp target man i.e. Lewandewski he is so far away from the cloggers you mention… I think Haaland for example could be a completly different and refreshing dynamic to add and considering the fucktron of crosses and long balls we seem to enjoy at present would have a field day v’s watching Salah chase down his 20th punt down the line.
We also lost any ability to shoot from 20 meters it seems. We always want to be in the 5m area… why?
Especially when 10 players are in the box.
1000% This drives me fucking insane! Why play Oxlade and then never see him have a go at the keeper from range?
We always seem to want to score the beautiful goal, Bobby is horrendous for this, always doing a stupid flick rather than just smashing it at the goal. Going for the hardest pass through 10 players rather than take the shot.
What made Suarez great, wasn’t he was the best striker of the ball, or the cleverest… What he did was just fucking shoot… He got a sniff he smashed it at the net… He scored so many goals by being unpredictable, by getting that deflection because no-one is set.
We have turned into a team who are easy to defend, so bloody predictable… Constant slow and passive, side to side passing, getting it to our fullbacks, who overlap with their wide forward, who get it back, we then get into a position to cross… Repeat Ad Nauseam. We used to be a team who flowed at full tilt, these endless waves of red pressure which always caused buckling. I watched last night we had a period of 20mins when we had 90% posession, we just did the same slow build up to end up in a cross to no-one or someone running into an opponent and losing it… Never did I feel we’d score. A stark contrast to last season when it was always a case of “when”…
I’ve seen Thiago do it twice in the last Two games, both where blocked
@Barnestormer @Draexnael I agree with your last posts, we do need an alternative option up front to eventually replace Bobby or transition him to a #10 where his guile is much more useful. Bobby used to shoot regularly when he arrived, now I wonder what’s happened. maybe the lack of competition has got the front three too comfortable.
Suarez was a fucking genius of a goal scorer and ALWAYS had his eye on the keeper. Something that has also been lost on our lads as of late. Their first instinct is not to shoot, I would almost swear that a couple of cup wins have taken the pure will out of their play. Absolutely, for some reason our front three seem to want to dwell on the ball for some reason, like they’re waiting for the camera to get in focus before they try to pull off some street skill instead of taking one touch to settle the ball and finding a corner.
is Haaland that guy? He could be, for sure. Could we get him? I don’t think his price tag would be affordable in this day and current economic situation. It’s been an age since I’ve seen an attacker come through the academy and actually make the first team so I’m not sure if we have someone queued up other than Brewster who even has a shot at it. Taki isn’t the guy, he is another in a long line of bargain buys by the club in hopes of finding a hidden gem and will likely end up back in Germany or Austria where those industrial, hustle style of players usually end up
Honest opinion, we lost that match to Soton due to sheer will of the opposition to win that match. I believe that to be reflected in the reaction of their manager.
Emile Heskey?
fair, I always forget about him
As you say he should have tempered it with that Man U got a penalty against Villa for the same type of contact so why isn’t the same parity allowed to Liverpool.
Also for me the one where Sadio was on the edge of the area and was just thrown to the ground by Walker-Peters should have been a nailed on penalty!
For a target man to work you have to beat the first man…
I actually prefer a right-footed FW over Salah. I feel that left-footed FWs like Salah are easier to read, especially when Salah often curves the ball when shooting, rather than firing cannonballs. Even right now, it is already clear that Mane is way harder to read than Salah.
A couple of points…

We must be really cursed with all these injuries. Because of this, The constant chopping and changing of centre backs isn’t helping anyone I guess. It basically completely disrupts our rhythm and game play. Having Fab at the back has made us lose a midfielder who could switch play and spray some balls over the top and most importantly, offer protection because of his reading of the game.
Sometimes, teams need to take a gamble, and no matter what… we need to take the money out and buy a centre back. This could eventually be the difference between winning and losing the league this year unfortunately. We cannot forget that we have lost the league by a point. The margins can be that small.
We have built a good team for years now and it would be criminal to lose an opportunity to grab the league , when we have the best team by a mile. This team by winning the league can not only start proving their greatness as one of the best teams around, but also will pull away from the pack and build further distance from the so called chasing pack. That’s what winners do…be relentless in your pursuit.
And , because of this whole loss of centre backs, and people playing in different positions, we seem to have lost our mojo and clearly we don’t build that pressure on teams. We used to cause death by pressure of constant attacks and pressing in the last 2 seasons, which was the reasons we scored late goals as well…
Therefore, we need to bite the bullet this time for me…and buy a centre back , so that we have our best engine room available in the middle of the park…either Hendo/Gini/Fab or Hendo/Fab/Thiago. -
More than the loss of Van djik, I feel it’s the loss of right sided centre back (Matip/Gomez) and the loss of defensive midfielder (Fab moved to Cb) which has exposed Trent badly. That right side of ours has become a target for opposing teams , partly Salah not doing enough dirty eork either…since that disastrous Villa Game. For a while, I would like Trent to stay deep and do what he is meant to be there for. Defend and help the centre backs.

The sad thing about this whole loss of points and form is that , it basically defeats the whole effort being put in to mentally destroy and gain points advantage over teams like spurs, leicester, chelsea etc . This was the liverpool of old when Jurgen joined. We seem to only turn up against the top 6…By this loss of form, we have given impetus to our rivals…that they have a chance.
Imagine if we had won games against Newcastle, Wba and fulham…we will be clear out of sight already. Now, spurs are even back in the race after we completely mentally destroyed them. And the less I talk about the acting theatre team named Scum, the better. -
But what’s happened has happened. We can’t change that. One important thing to remember is having all centre backs out and still remaining near the top of the table, has been a mammoth effort from everyone in the team.
Imagine City without Laporte, Stones, Dias and Garcia…it would be a surprise if they could have been top playing Fernandinho and Rodri as their main CBs. So, it’s great that this team has still been able to walk through this storm and kept going. Hopefully, the turnaround will happen soon and what better way to start that in the league vs Scum.
We all need to have faith in our coaching staff. Jurgen’s post match response is what I wanted to hear and I was glad to hear he sees the problems and is willing to find solutions. Hopefully , we will make some change in the formations or personnel up top to find that wee bit of unpredictability.
May be move Salah again as a striker, he and Mane hugs that by-line far too often for my liking and somewhere it’s the guys behind them who are not making enough runs in the channels to create space for Mo and Mane to become devastating again.
Lastly, I do feel for now, Bobby should probably be used as a sub instead for the next few games and either introduce Taki or Origi please. Give the opposing team something else to worry about. Guys from the bench also needs a run of games to get into rythm. We tend to call them shit far too easily…but the truth is the more they play with the same players around, the better they will be able to contribute.I guess, if we play Jota 1 game out of 10 for 5 min…he won’t be a world beater either. Hopefully, the coaching staff knows this better…and will come up with the right solutions soon.
Onwards and upwards… let’s hope we take the wheels off Ole’s cart.
I don’t want to sound like a conspiracy theorist but, there is a clear disparity with the way our VAR incidents are dealt with by a variety of officials. If we have a penalty shout in our favour then they have a quick look and turn us down. Against us and they’re looking at it from multiple angles until they can find one that shows that there was contact and use that to justify a decision against us.
Likewise in offside decisions. Son’s goal for Spurs was given within one minute of the ball hitting the net. Compare that with the (winner) against Everton. Minutes taken moving lines and frames backwards and forwards until they thought they could justify disallowing the goal.
I’m not saying that we’d be steamrollering teams and running away with the league, but we’d be two points better off in both the Everton and Brighton games.
It might be all garbage and just a looney idea in my head but I feel better for getting it off my chest.
