Post Match Spurs (A) - EPL 22/12/2024

I love his mindset and he will communicate exactly this to the team. You need to pick and choose times when to “rest” in matches. You could see Spurs had not given up. 1-5 works everywhere else, not away at Spurs. Probably need 1-7 before they chill out

Nor me. I thought Robbo was outstanding

Great day. Commanding win at Spurs, Chelsea dropped points, and Man Utd laid an egg losing 3-0 at home to Bournemouth.

The perfectionist in me wants to point out the two main ways we were sloppy. First, we easily could have scored ten goals today. There was a bit of a sense in which we were overplaying it and trying to walk it in on a few occasions. Second, we let Spurs score three goals which was careless. We were 5-1 up when we took our foot off the pedal. It is understandable, but there was a little spell there for 15-20 mins where we let Spurs have a glimmer of hope.

Still, 6-3 away from home, and we were utterly dominant.

Top of the league at Christmas, four points clear and a game in hand too. Not bad at all.

Merry Christmas!

We just put 6 past Spurs away from home, going 4 points clear with a game in hand, with our living legend breaking more records…and people complaining about sloppiness. There’s just no pleasing some folk

Including Arne.

I wouldn’t call it sloppy, but perhaps we were cavalier at times. We could scent blood and went for the kill when we could have eased up. But my god, it was entertaining. Both teams giving it their all until the final few minutes.

Sure, you want him to do better on that. But this is the guy who scores. There is no knock down ever that should be able to get to Dom from this situation so Virgil and Curtis have to do a lot better. That is before you even consider that Gomez is barely in the screen here and if you ever have that big a gap between your CBs you need an awful lot more from your CMs to provide cover.

My point here isnt to absolve robbo on this goal, but to counter those complaining about how our left was a defensive weakness today to point out that this was the only goal where he was remotely involved in conceding it, even then only a small part.

Mate I’m one of the more positive regulars here but even I have to say the three we conceded today rather rankle. Being good in defence is part of Arne’s Liverpool’s identity. Shipping three in the last two games definitely leaves a bad taste. Can’t just overlook that. Mo and Arne certainly didn’t.

Fair enough. I’m fucking buzzing though. No one could have predicted how we’d be looking at Christmas :santa:t3:

The 4th official nearly screwed us over. Terrible game management, and we leaking goals.

Any good Spurs fan media meltdown videos doing the rounds.

Couldn’t watch the game so figure I’m owed some entertainment.

Yeah that goal was the one that annoyed me the most.

I also though Virg nall watched, but the header back from Johnson looped over Virg and fell perfectly for Solanke

It wasn’t an issue, however for once all the goals against involved around the space between Virg and Robbo, ourright for once was solid and I thought Gomez had an exceptional game, better than Virg in this game.

Also Joe’s pass through 2 lines for our 2nd goal? Was exquisite
