Post Match: Spurs v Liverpool (EPL 19/12/21 4.30pm)

Leaving aside the officiating. On the whole I’m ok with a draw. For many moments in the game even before Robbo got sent off our midfield was just a gaping maw and I honestly thought we’d get walloped.

How did our line up get leaked early again?

I was just thinking on with this but do we know who was on the VAR team for this? Was it the same for the Newcastle game because I noticed Alan Shearer complaining about the VAR with that one.

We could easily have been three down at half-time and game over. I was thankful for the point too at the end.

Anyone that cannot see an agenda in that game yesterday is blind or extremely naive.

But first things first:

With Thiago, VVD, Fabinho and Hendo out we should have requested postponing the match.
SKY/PL would not have granted that for their flagship Super Sunday match, but we should have tried.

Yet, with the team we had out we could have won the match. Granted Spurs missed chances but overall we should have won, and in truth the decisions cost us two points.
Putting Morton in was neccessary but he was exposed on a few occasions. Mo was off song. He has the occasional off game, yesterday was one.
Naby was ok, Konate will be a monster and Robbo was my MOTM.

Just a thought re Matip…
He moves the ball so well and has such game intelligence that playing him at DM with Gomez beside Konate might have been an option?

Tierney and VAR cost us.
Kane was a travesty decision. There are a few of us so called conspiracy theorists that know this is not just an England captain decision. This is a sickingly regular occurence when our players are assaulted without proper punishment.
The penalty on Jota is mind boggling.
Watch Gallagher on SKY justify the decision today, with his fake accent and SKY head on him.
If the Jota pen was given, I guarantee the vicious push by TAA on poor Deli prior to our second goal would be a red card and penalty…
Even Tierney and VAR couldn’t make that awful assault stick for Spurs though.

Robbo deserved the red card. It was stupid but borne out of frustration and lack of understanding that he is not allowed to do what Kane is allowed.

This has cost us badly. City won’t drop many points and have a squad better equipped for Covid/AFCON than we have. But that in itself isnt the most depressing thought. Once again we have to go about winning a league with every card stacked against us.
Similar to the two horse race a few seasons ago when we were screwed by obnoxious and unexplainable decisions.

Of course we should be celebrating the best Liverpool side in such a long long time, enjoying the best football being played in ages courtesy of a brilliant manager.
But its all soured by the now obvious agendas that go on in front of us.
If Klopp feels as he looked post match yesterday he will consider what more he can do before too long.

We could also have been 2 or 3-1 up at half time, if the officials had done their job. And don’t forget the saves Lloris made in the first half, they seem to have been overlooked.

It’s the morning after the game and I’m still angry about what happened yesterday. Not just at the incompetent officials, but also our inability to manage the game better after going 2-1 up with 20 minutes to go. I don’t think I’ve felt the same rage after a game, since the farce at Everton last season.

If it wasn’t for Ali’s rush of blood , we would probably have seen the game out quite comfortably.

Went round to clients today and he is a Liverpool Fan and like me, he is still frustrated about the game about the injustice in the decisions from the officials, it seems a theme for most of us after that game.

He did and obviously very angry as well. I know he’s never walked out on a contract, but it concerns me, he might reach the point when he doesn’t want to put up with this bullshit anymore. The Spurs game isn’t the first time this has happened and we all know it will happen again.

If Clattenburg is calling you out on decisions then you know you’ve really fucked up. One of the most farcical displays of referreeing in recent memory, and there have been some doozies.
