Post Match: Toulouse v Liverpool (EL 9/11/23 5.45pm)

Rubbish!

Mental deficiency with this team when it comes to playing utter fodder away with no techique and all fighting spirit.

Need to come up with a solution for this if we want to win anything this season.

Said it in match thread. Their attitude stinks.
They stroll into last 2 games thinking they will just roll over the opposition.
Cant be coincidence we never beat poor teams away from home.
You have to earn the right to play. 99% of teams won’t just allow you to do what you want.
Too many players think theyre great and don’t need to win their battles.
8 points out of last 15 in premier league says we aren’t great (ok spurs was harsh).
Get your head out your arses and change your attitude. They have the talent but not the application at the moment.

Was bollocks and didn’t deserve to draw though it should have been 3-3.

Jota showed how shit they were and he has done that twice. Yet we seemed to what to shoot from 40 yards and cross the ball into nobody for large parts.

I am quite worried as I was hoping for a reaction but we looked shit.

Only hope is that latest injustice drives us on a bit. We should qualify still but they really annoyed me.

"We can be a good team, but without winning defensive challenges, nope.
We’ve been physically dominated the past two games"…Klopp

so true

I’ve downgraded my expectations for the season after the last 2 games and JK’s pressers where he spoke about injuries.
Looks to me like we’re going to be faced with the same old same old. A core group of 12/13 players who when fit give us an exceptional starting 11, complimented by 9 or 10 back-up’s who are quite simply not consistently good enough when called upon. Throw a few sick-notes into the equation and it’s why we’re playing Europa League this season instead of CL.
That Tsimikas and Endo both got hooked at HT against dross worries me greatly.I haven’t seen the game but from what I’ve read neither can complain.
We go into the Brentford game with only Slobo, Endo and Elliott available in midfield. JK clearly doesn’t trust Endo. Not sure what the answer is there. Maybe start Trent to give the midfield a bit of athleticism and play Gomez at RB?
Really need to win because we’re getting fuck all at City after the break.

If Gravenbach is injured then I can’t see how we can’t go with Trent there.

Only obvious option.

Starting to feel very anxious about Brentford. The past two games we’ve been way below par with losing challenges and making very poor decisions in the build-up phase. And Brentford as a team are average in most parts of the game but boy do they put up a fight and win challenges. Winning them requires that we are ready for the fight and the past two games we have been nowhere near that level.

Don’t forget the Tierney factor.

It’s been 2 oddly lethargic performances in a row. Even from Dom who normally looks completely unbothered physically. If you look at the stats against Luton the pressing was shit, like last season’s levels with Hendo and Fabs in the side.

I wonder if they’ve looked at the relatively easy schedule, thought there was the potential to lose a bit of physical sharpness over the period so made them dig in a bit harder in training to help keep them on it and found themselves feeling a bit leggy.

Have the all had a bug…coz the work rate has decreased and they don’t seem to be able to fight…and it seems Virg still has ā€˜it’…

Was wondering about that.

I think Sweeting made a good point to be honest.

We’ll be fine. A kick up the backside is good now and then

Still in control of the group. A win and a draw against the 2 weakest sides looks plenty good to top the group.

So crap day, but no harm done aside from shaking all us fans confidence going into the weekend. Better to have the learning experiences for the side in games with lower consequences…

Couple of pretty ordinary performances on the trot, not good at all, need to turn it around smartish and get back on track against Brentford.

It looks horrible…Wataru Endo looks really out of his depth even at Europa level. Doak looks a tad too raw to cut it at any top-flight league. Gakpo and Tsimkas are just disappointing…

Doak only turns 18 on Sunday.

We will say play youth, then when youth shows out to be too raw we then say they can’t hack it.

Anyhow I know expected goal ratio can be beat with a stick but we created nothing tonight.

Only Sunday it was 3.48, tonight around 1.1, then again Toulouse was 0.89

Does anyone know what VVD illness is? Have any of our other players had the same thing? I’m wondering whether any of the lackluster displays last night might be related.

For the second consecutive game, we were lethargic and out of sorts.
