Another difficult game negotiated after a not very good performance in large parts. Big misses from Jota and Nunez, though………

We extend our lead at the top of the PL to eight points.

Meh.

All the brickbats will be aimed at Darwin, but let’s not forget the equally bad miss from Jota in the first half. Villa’s second goal had a clear handball in the buildup but, as usual, nothing given.

Good to see Ibou back in form after his poor display at the weekend. Let’s hope that Conor’s injury isn’t too serious.

Ultimately, it’s a good point against a team who, let’s not forget, qualified automatically in this season’s Champions League top eight, and it leaves us eight points clear at the top of the table.

Onwards and upwards.

Would have taken a draw at half time, but it’s infuriating to drop another two, especially with Darwin missing another fucking open goal.

Yeah and I feel we had the momentum until the Darwin and Bradley subs. Disappointing.m and we finished with a whimper. If we don’t beat Cheaty the pressure really will build

I’ll take the point. Much easier to stomach than the Everton draw for a variety of reasons. Yes, Nunez missed a sitter, but Villa had some excellent chances as well and are a good club with a quality manager.

Hopefully seeing out the draw will give this team some confidence.

We were better than we were against Wolves, but the goals we gave away were cheap. And we missed some sitters. Not sure what’s happened to Jota’s form.

And Nunez - you know I love you, and I have defended you time and again - but I despair after that. What can you even say?

I fucking hope not. We were so unadventurous in our passing, so passive in standing up to Villa and in the end it was more luck that judgement that saw us through.

you hope we don’t gain confidence…?

A draw is not an ideal outcome. But Villa is a tough out this season. We just need to make sure we have more wins than draws over the next 5 matches. Just 13 games to go. We need to hold onto this 7 point lead.

A good point against a good team. Honours even with a fair result for both sides. Nunez is devoid of any confidence and the lads head is really down. Let’s hope City’s team are knackered after tonight’s hammering.

Not a great result in my view I do feel we’ve hit a bit of a slump and another injury is leaving us short again. I also don’t think that Villa team is in that great shape so to me it’s points dropped.

Maybe we will have win the FA Cup next season thus not to hit the buffers though since that Spurs game we’ve looked awful.

Next Man City and fuck knows what will show up there.

It’s time to sell Nunez this summer. This is becoming clearly evident. We need to start over at #9.

The usual suspects will blame Darwin but not even mention how many chances Jota missed.
Another Two points dropped and City coming up next.
We just got to hope arsenal drop points also.

Simply not clinical enough. It’s a shame but the correct decision

Some natural selection needs to happen with Nunez I think. That was a shocker of a miss.

Bradley going off injured too.

I find myself frustrated after that.
