Was that from the good old wodger?

Yes we definitely need Lovren in moments like this just so posters can let off steam on someone.
At the moment not bringing in a new CB looks like an error. Still our midfield could offer more cover so I’m just wishing Hendo would speed up his recovery.

That’s jealousy for you, he wants all the stick he got before.

5.15am kick off here and rather than go to bed early and wake up like a normal person I stayed up all night smoking weed in anticipation for this game that I thought was going to be a potential banana skin after they almost beat us last season with a shitter squad but for 2 late goals from Robbo and Mane. But 7 fucking goals?! The whole team needs a massive kick up the ass after that performance. What a massive waste of weed that was!

I don’t know whether the result for me was sobering or drunking. Either way I’ve downed a few. Let’s be honest though we’ve been scraping through since the start back and this is similar to Watford.

Unfortunately, I remember that very well. But we did quite well afterwards,

Just another day in 2020, nothing new. Let’s pick ourselves up and move on

Missed the game, we still have Klopp so not worried. We’ll be back stronger. :muscle:

Woke up this morning thinking we won 8-7 but alas, it was just a dream. :sob:

If you cant see that it was the system, i.e our high line and lack of pressing then you are beyond help. Although I do feel Matip’s overall game is better than Joe’s, but he wouldn’t have done better with that high line and no midfield.

Want to be positive about it, but its hard to be positive honestly. That was a abysmal showing and it cant be said enough, thank god we got Thiago and Mane. IF we inject both these players into our next fixture , i think we can see some kind of response.

Regarding our back woes, i now look and question whether Gomez should be the starter going forward. He has not had been consistent in a while now and there is this glaring gaping hole that teams are attacking. I dont know if Fabinho is the solution to this issue or if someone else will solve it, but the focus has to be coming up with a way to cover that side of the field. Ancelotti would have saw that performance today and told Richarlison the exact point he needs to hit to break through us.

Klopp is right, Adrian is not the main problem here, its just how lackadaisical we are with defending ever since we won the league. The midfield and the back 4 need to chat and maybe Thiago can help the defence by making sure we control the game from the onset.

It was a double whammy for me.

Bet for the first time in my life through a paid fantasy game. Filled most of team with our players. Lost all my money. But it wasn’t anywhere nearly as horrifying as watching our team being humiliated.

I will normally wait a full day after a good hiding before returning to the forums, as there’s a lot of Chicken Little’s running amok.

Our back line as a whole had acres of space in it. Could have driven a bus through it. I often saw Gini dropping into LB covering for an advanced Robbo, but without Hendo on the other side for Trent we got flanked and shelled. Gomez got hung out to dry, and coming from someone who spends a lot of time in the back line over the last few years, he doesn’t deserve the bollocking he has gotten on here. That was piss-poor by Keita.

With both Thiago and Hendo out, we are VERY weak in the middle of the pitch. Whislt Keita and Minamino (and Jones to a degree) may be good at advanced roles, they lack a set of balls on them to get stuck in. They were overpowered by the Villa players who recovered a rediculously high rate of “second balls” and I am not sure there is a statistic that quantifies that. But we were shit at recovering them. Absolutely shit.

Bobby looked bang average again today. The goal drought continues for our #9 who needs to be converted to a midfielder. Would actually like to ship Keita out at this point, sell him to Barca for £90mil and buy Mbappe to lead the line. Bobby is getting too cute on the ball within 25 yards. Get a touch on it then put your laces through it.

Too many players out of action right now, we are dropping points far too early into the season…that was the worst game I have seen since Stevie’s last match as a Red. Completely gash.

Now… let’s not panic and see what the club decides to do.

Head scratching to figure out what to say in my 1st post on here…and I have to find words after today’s performance?

It’s really for Klopp and for psychologists this problematic issue. Not for us, and certainly not for any journalists.

I’ll just repeat what many have said:

5 big “industry” misses (Hendo, Ali, Mane, Ox and Milner)
the Covid threat within our team
the empty seat/training ground feel

and I’ll add:

The Thursday cup game. Stop mixing it up and expecting several 1st team players to perform well in 3 games in 6 days. It’d have been better to start the kids against Arsenal.

Note:

A little reminder not to revel in the misery of others. Not a fan of the Mancs, but let this result be a reminder of how quickly we can go from the delight of this morning’s result at OT to eating a big slice of humble pie…

Keep your chins up folks and give the lads a break. They’ve been nearly perfect for 24 months and are allowed a slip now and then

Agreed, and I think we need to sacrifice creativity right now and get back to basics as in protecting the defence. I’d give my right arm now to be able to field Hendo, Milner and Tiago in the derby.
JK needs to get on to Southgate this morning and remind him Hendo has been injured otherwise the daft twat will run him into the ground. Then go and sign another goalkeeper.

There’s some club out there whose anthem is ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone.’ Must be nice there.

Don’t have the mental energy to go through over 1000 posts in the pre and post match threads.

Oh boy, oh boy; that was some torment. Now I know how other supporters feel when they play us.

Anyway, so happy that it happened and it happened so early in the season. We have the time to work on our frailties and put the season back on track.

In the 1st half we were creative enough but not realistic enough, AV had a lot of luck at times. So yes keep that creativity just get the press off better.
We don’ need Hendo and Milner one or the other (preferably Hendo) then there’s place for Keita.
