Would be nice to hear from Mike Dean on the matter.
I’m pretty sure it’s only a dropped ball if the referee touches the ball. I thought he gave a free kick for the Baggies player having a little nibble at Fabinho, although no-one seems to have mentioned this.
We have to be clinical in front of goal. Too often this season, we’ve failed to take chances in games and ended up hanging on for a win or throwing points away late on. Newcastle, Leeds
etc, etc. Yesterday, we had three clear chances to score, Mane, Firmino and Gini, all were wasted. If more of these chances were converted into goals, we wouldn’t be shitting our pants towards the end of a game. We need to sign a natural goal scorer, one that can stay fit also.
We have Salah, Mané and Jota. Jota’s injuries can all be explained by physical contact with opposition players.
So that leaves Firmino, get in a replacement for him or use him better by having a midfielder running off his shoulder or helping out between opposition lines more often like what Jones does?
On the corner - it was about time we put an inswinging corner in. Watching Robertson put those outswingers in all game was painful, we were never going to score from them. Hopefully we take note and have Trent put them in from that side from now it, it was a superb ball and an even better header.
I been saying for weeks we’ll still get champions league.
How quickly believers turn to doubters.
This is Liverpool Football Club.
We get the job done even if we have to do something completely utterly ridiculous like get the goalie up in the 94th minute to score a worldie of a header.
Stodgy game but what an unexpected and very emotional ending. So pleased for Alisson after what he has had to go through. I will admit to a lump in my throat during his interview.
I distinctly remember this. Got so pissed off during the game when this happened. It’s this what encourages the likes of Fat Sam to play his dirty brand of football and get away with it.
Shambolic referring and we didn’t come out worse from a result perspective, but we definitely didn’t finally had things ‘going our way’ the media were quick on jumping upon.
After the dust has settled now must say what a great moment Allison getting his goal was but looking at it logically another poor overall performance by the Reds. Thought we were slow and predictable once again. Their keeper was marginally busier than Allison and although we had the lion’s share of the ball we never looked very threatening in the last third of the pitch. Thought Thiago had his best game to date for us but the rest of the lads were bang average. It seems that the lower teams have sussed out how to defend against us and we need to move the ball faster and not allow teams to get men back behind the ball before we get to the half way line. I’m sure we’ll see the same problem on Wednesday against Burnley.
Although I think Thiago had a good game my MOM has to go to Allison for the wonderful moment at the end of the game.
I was crying out for Trent to take an inswinger from that side. Every single outswinging corner was headed away by Sam’s grocks. With the inswinger there’s always a chance that a defender might misjudge and deflect it backwards towards goal. Or that your keeper heads it in, of course. What a delivery from Trent, though, under that amount of pressure. World class.
Or possibly, Ataturk here we come again.
Seems that Anfield (far)East is awaiting to re-welcome the Reds at the third time of asking, having their latest CL Final hosting plans postponed in 2020 and again this year. Hopefully, UEFA will shift the scheduled venue to Istanbul once again.
