Not sure it necessarily works like that..
@-#2: If my aunt was male, she’d be my uncle
I get that, it’s just that the most frustrating part of the last two months is the bland sameness of it all.
Today at least felt like an attempt to put round pegs in round holes.
We’ll never know…and everyone thinks Captain Hindsight is a cunt…just mulling over what could have been…
It’s not so much the personnel, Salah excepted, as the mentality. We played with greater calmness
I thought Mac looked a lot more effective in possession today than he has for ages. He just looks a bit easily brushed off the ball in battles.
Going forward, if 4231 is what Slot wants to play, I can see us going for Semenyo and Dom dropping back to the two alongside Gravenberch.
I’m not sure what Is baffling about the subs?
-
Ekitike for Isak is an obvious (and probably programmed) sub. As is Robbo for Kerkez (who I thought was really effective today).
-
Jones for Wirtz took a lot of the energy out of the team, but I can see Wirtz only getting 70 due to him just coming back from the injury.
Other than that, I don’t really see the alternatives?
No doubt.
Am worried about future disruption with the phasing out of one of our top-3 GOATs.
The rest of the league

Good view from behind enemy lines.
Thought west ham would be up for it what with Billy Bonds passing away but they were awful.
Thought Wirtz was really good. Shouldve scored though.
Isak bar goal and 1 shot well saved was quiet.
Thoyght Mac Allister was poor and Ekitike was quiet when he came on.
This win proves nothing as if the other team dont attack…you cant really lose.
He finally relented with Gomez and he might be forced to use them and they will do better than he expects then who knows, I didn’t have much hope of a positive results today but look what happened and Isak and Wirtz the big money signings finally clicked and I haven’t given up on Salah just yet.
The win proves that we made a positive step and that there’s still many more to make ahead.
What is wrong you people?
Heaven knows loads of us were crying out for him to do it and listening to Joe Gomez voice in his post match interview really filled me with a more positive mood.
My point is west ham didn’t even have a shot.
Its great for our confidence but west ham were so deep. Played like an away team
Any news on Kerkes? I thought he was having some issues with about 10 minutes to go, raising his arm to alert the bench for sub.
Not too sure how to feel about the match. Happy that we won and a clean sheet. So happy that I went out to remove the snow from the driveway!
Anyways, below are my thoughts (or lack there of, Haa!)
Wirtz’s vision and his passes to teammates are absolutely eye candy. Good to see JoGo got the much needed minutes, which helps his confidence, and stability at the back. Kerkez played one of his better match.
However, the defensive organisation is still a bit of a mess…but seemed to do a bit better when we were pinned down at certain part of the match. Gakpo, despite scoring the goal to settle the nerves, frustrated me to no end throughout the match (I was like an old man shouting at the sky!). Surprise that Szoboszlai got many votes. I thought he gave the ball away carelessly many times, which led to dangerous attack from West Ham, albeit without any bite.
Next against a newly promoted team that has lots of confidence.
Let’s go!
Gomez should be the only other option at RB if neither Bradley nor Frimpong are available, that should’ve been clear during pre-season. Said it for years, Gomez is now a better fullback than he is a CB, he had a very good season in Klopp’s last where he played mostly at fullback.
Didn’t expect to see Wirtz back in the XI today but as soon as I saw him in the line up + the other changes, I was thrilled.
Glad to see we won. Didn’t watch. I’m too miserable watching them.
When did @Lotto get benched?
I missed him today. I hope he is enjoying the victory, wherever he is.
Kerkez had cramp
The issue wirh gomez is he offers nothing going forward and cant play 3 games in 7 days
He got forward well and put a few crosses in, got an assist didn’t he?
Generally not a fan of long throws but we also have that option with him on the pitch.
Out today so had to watch the playback. We won, that’s good.
Would love us to push out more and show some threat. We have just stopped pressing high up the field…..why?
We looked better without Mo but so slow in the build up.
Overall 6/10
