Post match: West Ham v Liverpool (EPL 31/1/21

Back at you Bud! Moaning is good!

Great second half I thought and even the first was ok if a little flat up front. 3 absolutely great goals with the second and third being made of jaw dropping stuff.

2 disappointments for me; conceding a goal and Origi’s performance which, in my opinion, did not demonstrate the required level of effort.

The way I see the league this year it will come down to which team can sustain the longest run of results. Hopefully we’re at the beginning of ours now. We need to I think the way Cheaty are playing.

No, he wasn’t. Robertson gets a nick on the ball, which takes it over his head. If Robbo doesn’t touch, Nat heads it away.

Gave MotM to Salah brilliant goals and a tumb up to Jones, that is how he should play. :+1:

And a mention to Nat Phillips…strong , solid reliable, he’s doing OK with Hendo as his mentor…

There is a narrative emerging that we were shite in the first half.

This is, frankly, bollocks. It was a masterclass in game management.

West Ham are fucking huge, and deadly on the break. This is not the game to get drawn into a physical battle, or leave space in behind.

What we did was to back our superior technical ability and fitness. We passed the ball in the first half, kept West Ham at bay and made safety the priority. We knew that West Ham would tire, and we could then push forward in the last half hour with more freedom.

It was brilliant. But all I’ve seen on Sky, in the media, and here is nonsense that we were flat in the first half and then found some form in the second half. Game plan, lads!

As I said during the match, all due respect to Mo’s class for our first, but Curtis broke up the WHU defence by charging at them.

He then delivered a perfect final pass.

That goal 100% wouldn’t have happened if not for the kid just on, who also happened to turn 20 yesterday.

Happy bday Curtis!!!

A large proportion of the fan base now believe if we haven’t scored or at least peppered the oppositions goal we have been shite in any half.

Nat Philips and Salah stood out… Just glad at last Philips got a chance… No Nonsense defender and was confused as to why Klopp didn’t give him much of a chance before…

I reckon we’re wiping the floor with them all this year.

Personally I didn’t think our movement up front was anywhere near good enough in the first half. Other than that we were in control. Only thing missing with the opportunities and goals and that stemmed from not having that movement.

Curtis did very well today kept it moving and no unnecessary dribbling .
we cant play that slow like the first half , very predictable but when we speed it up we are supreme.
my moment of the game is henderson arriving to west ham box when mo scored probably wanted to stretch his legs !
