Right.

So one discussion counts as the media.

Noted.

West Ham did fail to perform. We played well and that’s a big part of it, but they could have played better too. It would have been odd if the pundits thought that was the best West Ham performance possible.

They were really poor in possession, for example. We could say that was due to the well established counter-pressing abilities of Origi and Shaqiri but I think that might be stretching the truth a little bit.

Erm please tell me where I exactly i said that.

Or have a forum where everyone can express a view or opinion and have it discussed?

It was refreshing in MOTD to have Eddie Howe as a pundit his assessment of the game was spot on even Micah Richards had to backtrack from his previous comments that shitty would walk this league

Interesting to hear Howe on it, always had respect for him, he saved Bournemouth and then made them.

Me too I am baffled how no struggling club gave him a job with his Pl experience

The thing is, we win a couple of games and everything is good in the world and people fall into that mindset that we are playing on a level playing field and all our misfortune this season has been down to ‘bad luck’ and ‘incompetent’ officials. The reality is somewhat different, and it will only be a matter of time before it rears it’s ugly head again.

Agree. The recent uptick in form doesn’t take away from the fact that the game is completely bent. Liverpool are absolutely not the only victims of it, we just happen to notice it more when it happens to us.

So the game’s bent against everybody?

Possibly same reason struggling clubs haven’t gone out and bought players to help survive they don’t want to waste money unnecessarily.

A good reminder for us (said only slightly tongue-in-cheek) that we’re still quite a good team. Yes we’ve suffered from injuries, a loss of form, and dodgy decisions, but we’ve not lost our work ethic. Sometimes you just have to play yourself back into form. Two very solid wins on the road, both of which most wouldn’t have given us before kickoff based on current form. Losing the clean sheet took the shine off it but still plenty of positives today.

This game proved a lot less difficult than I thought it would. Once again we were the better side by a distance, as we have in most of our games recently, the difference is we put our chances away today. We need to be as clinical going forward.

Totally agree, I thought we moved the ball fast and accurately through defense and midfield and they just couldn’t press us, what we did lack, was movement in the final 3rd. However their shape 1st half defensively looked very good and the movement from us helped them

Yes that’s exactly what I said, clearly.

But sometimes our play, positioning and pressure surely effects how teams play and our midfield at the moment seem to have gelled really well in the last 2 games both defensively and with the ball.

Hahahaha I think half the posters here are teenagers. There’s no middle ground with some.

I thought we played superb. I think we often play first halves like we did, so often that it can’t be a coincidence. So often that I suspect it could even be a tactic. So often that maybe the Red men are playing to Klopp’s instructions.

All 3 goals were superb. 1st made by Curtis who I thought was excellent. One passage of play where he beat a few men, held onto the ball, then found a team mate. 2nd was fantastic, 7 touches from 4 players. 3rd goal 777 touches from about 37 players.

I loved how we controlled the last 10 mins. Killed it.

One last thought. Fatty has been the best of a bad bunch of ref’s. I think refereeing the world over is terrible. No sign of bias today But boy are ref’s poor. One thing that stood out is how players have been allowed to manhandle Mo so much that when he won a free kick for it in the first half, the West Ham defender was incredulous.

I don’t think the lack of penetration on the first half was a tactic, Klopp said as much at full time. But what we did do first half was keep them at bay and the two cbs were superb as we’re the two fbs to stop crosses coming in.

We were full of possession first half and I think Neville was right saying that we were playing too many passes before going for the killer one. That and our midfield wasn’t making runs beyond the strikers and as a result of both we were too easy to deal with.

On a side note Origi infuriates the life out of me. For all his physical attributes he is a lamb in wolf’s clothing. He should be bullying most if not every cb but he’s too nice. Even when running it’s so passive with his arms by his side instead of pumping and aggressive. Can’t see him still being here next season.
