Post match: West Ham v Liverpool (EPL 31/1/21

Great to have back to back wins, all 3 goals were fantastic. Special mentions for Nat Phillips Mo and Hendo!

There is though
VAR, refs, decisions are all part of post match discussion. Talk about a match with a group of people and such issues will be raised. Its natural.

I said we could have two threads. You can discuss the hell out of all those things and others can discuss the football. Anyway, it was a throwaway line meant to express how tedious all these ‘controversies’ can be. Not worth getting upset about.

I agree, it would be nice for once that the thread isn’t poluted with the tinfoil hat brigade.

Just be happy we won and go shout at clouds in private.

Especially when you see the VAR incident of Ings being judged to be offside, its just woeful on all levels, but certainly not this 30 year long conspiracy against us.

Yeah I agree. I think the game in general is just bent. We’ve been victims of it, but many other teams have fallen afoul of deliberately shit refereeing this season and last.

If the Moderators are unhappy with any comments in post match threads they would certainly say so.

If you disagree with comments fair enough, @Bekloppt did so without the need for incendiary language.
There are a number of members of the forum who are aware of the bias that exists and have produced reasoned argument on the subject. Without resorting to insult.

Its a fucking forum where views are debated.
In the old TIA forum it was likened to a pub, where fans could talk, and in fairness debate was heated at times
If you told someone on a pub that they were polluting a conversation or that they were members of the tin foil hat brigade you would get checked sharpish.
Imagine the fume someone with your comments might generate if they were told that their naive infantile comments were unwelcome?

Where I see injustice against Liverpool I will say it. You want to debate fine, you want to insult expect some back. You, like a small number of others, talk about conspiracy. Yet its naive people like you who are the only ones actively using that word. You being naive about how football works is immaterial to me.

In this instance you should go and shout at some clouds. Calm down a little bit.

Per @jaffod

There was a report last week saying Klopp and his team are incensed by officiating in our matches this season and they believe it’s cost us about 8 points. I know who’s point of view I give most credence to.

Add this to Rafa, to Kenny…
All obviously tin foil hat wearers if they believe so, according to some on here.

“But Danny Ings offside means everything is equal…blah fucking blah”

The irony of you using the “pub” metaphor…

If after the match in the Albert after we’d won 3-1 and the same fella who sits nursing his half pint of mild every week telling everyone how there is a conspiracy against Liverpool, starting with the refs, started up the same shite…

You are right, everyone who was singing and dancing on the table would tell him to pipe down, pick up his scarf and join in the celebration.

p.s. I was having a nice conversation with another forum member, you know “discussing” what I prefer to read or not. So the irony isn’t lost on me by you trying to call me out for you know… “talking”. Must have hit a nerve eh?

That was actually insane he didn’t get a yellow card (would have been a red right)?

What is actually insane is the fact that even the pundits (Owen mostly) were saying that. :innocent:

I remember Mané getting red against City an few years back for a high kick on Ederson who he could not have seen coming.

Who was the ref, that same Jonathan Moss.

Anyone else wonder why Antonio was wearing shorts a size or two too small for him?

Asking the important questions, me. Reckon it slowed him down.

The Mane incident is very different to the one above. Mane had his studs showing and went in with more force.

The one on sunday was never a red card in a million years.

I agree but neither was the Mané one IMO.

I think it might have been a yellow, if the lad wasn’t already on one.

Mané vs City was very dangerous and clearly a red.

West Ham player was already booked and most referees in world football would give a second yellow.

Wasn’t as dangerous as Mané but a clear foul.
